Gargoyles is probably the better written show with more sensible and relateable tones and, nostalgia wise, I actually preferred it (I had the board game. The board game was awesome even though it was absolutely terrible), but I think you're gonna have a hard time getting a winning vote away from Beast Wars, the bread and butter of transformers, on a pretty nerdy forum.

depends, is this complete series or a given season? Gargoyles had a pretty long arc of what felt more like filler episodes that weaken it viewed as a whole. Beast Wars more or less kept its quality the whole way through. So although Gargoyles probably had the best season, I'd say Beast Wars was the better series.
Of course if these are just 3 or 4 episode deals, then as they have said, Code of Hero. I assume that isn't the case because if your choices were Code of Hero or any other episode of anything in existance, obviously Beast Wars wins.

Gargoyles. They met everyone from Puck to Coyote to Odin.
Also, they convinced grey goo to not eat the world. I guess what I'm saying is that I remember the part with them in the boat traveling the world the best. |

Yes Gargoyles had awesome moments, but Megatron kept an immortal under control by ripping out his soul and litterally crushing it every time he got uppity. Lets not forget his two attempts to alter reality itself, and subsuming his name sakes power. I am not saying one was better then the other, but they were both plenty epic. It would be like arguing who was a better Magnificent Bastard, Megatron or Xanatos. Differance isn't enough to put one show over the other

I love me some Gargoyles. It had a pretty decent ensemble cast. But the biggest problem I had with it felt like 3 young, slightly naive type characters vs Beast Wars 1.
Beast Wars wins this one. Dinobot and Megatron are the two best reasons. Scorpinok is probably my least favorite, but was overshadowed by the great Inferno. And Cheetor after events in season 3. But I think the real winner here is us. EDIT: See what I mean? |
