To elaborate, I don't mind a certain level of grinding. Its actually the developer's duty to HIDE just how much grinding I'm actually doing to the best of their abilities. Because when it comes down to it, most of the games I've ever played are grinds. But they're interesting grinds, and so far in this vein I have found MMORPGs unimpressive.

That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed DDO when it launched but I reached cap in a month and it lacked post-cap content. Puzzle Pirates was also the shit.

All depends on the environment, as well. I'd have more interest in a game that I have friends playing, which usually leads to grinding becoming less and less boring.

But after a while, yeah, all games do become grinds.

Well, the reason I do even bother applying to MMO betas or semi-trolling their threads is that while I pretty much dislike all of them, I don't want to because, potentially, the level of friend and community interaction is bar none.

So excited. I don't even know why. I've been bored to death by every MMO I've played, but I keep coming back for more.

I'll probably try to get into this beta. My track record of this is not good, so I don't actually expect to get in, but whatever.

So yeah, first rule and all that.

Fuck, I wish the PS3 beta was at the same time as the PC, I would totally hop on an NPF guild.

The ad I got in the mail said this is "one of the most anticipated games of all time". How the heck did anyone anticipate it? FF13 is barely out yet; even the most hardcore fans can only have been able to anticipate it for like a week. I anticipated it'd be at least a year before they started talking about it.

Maybe that word doesn't mean quite what they think it does.
