I agree with the partying twice concept.

But even though it's totally right, it pisses me off every time somebody brings up the "It doesn't actually happen for a year guys" thing as if it's a completely new concept that nobody's heard of. It's another case of "stop having fun", and even though some people might find it incredibly important, a MUCH better idea would be, the next year, to say something along the lines of "Now we can have a REAL end-of-decade party!"

And yeah, I don't follow politics at all, nor am I American, nor was I old enough to get what was going on when he was in office, but dammit, Clinton was a badass president. Like that one substitute teacher in elementary school who you always hoped your class would get because he'd fly in on his skateboard and then start telling stories about all the dinosaurs he's decapitated. Mr Beingessner, you were the coolest!

At the end of the last decade I was doing the millenium dance in second grade and preparing to move to Germany, where I would begin my schooling career in earnest. Beginning of this decade I'll be getting final exam results and preparing to move back to Germany to study electrical engineering and begin my adult life. Weird, how stuff seems so very predetermined sometimes. Admittedly, determined by someone with only basic grasp of irony and storytelling, but determined nonetheless.
