My mistake, they also have to cease production on the KQ title. That says nothing about making a new IP.

Not to doubt you or anything, but Activision can't stop people from making a new IP. If they could, the whole indie market would be boned.


Edit: To put it this way, there is a big difference between "cease production" and "destroy all resources."



Edit again: Apparently, there is precedent for making a new IP out of the existing work. Reading the forums.

Best pick up the 3 King's Quest remakes while you can. They won't be available for long. Hope this doesn't put a crimp in Quest for Villany, as I was looking forward to said fan game, that was based on the Quest for Glory series.
