So, I didn't like Final Fantasy XIII, but I liked its combat. XIII-2's combat is the same, but adds little things to boss fights to make it more visually interesting, and you can get monsters in your party to fill various paradigm roles. This is pretty cool. Wish there were more improvements, but I can dig it.
I also dug the Moogle and all the little functions he has. Nothing big, but hey it's a small thing that makes the game a little more varied. We also get towns, which XIII was missing. We also get minigames, which keep it from being fight fight fight cutscene fight fight. Even better! I was also happy that Lightning is still hella strong, as she should be after XIII. I just found out apparently she's almost a deity and guards the shrine of some goddess in Valhalla. And then they revealed that there would be time travel and which time and place players traveled to wasn't some linear path but something they get to choose and such. And I squee'd. XIII-2 probably won't be a great game, but it'll definitely be pretty good. I'm excited.
