Holy crap.
At first glance I had thought it was just a sculpture or a small doll someone made, but this is a full costume. ![]() ![]() Simply amazing costume work.

It's spontaneous math time! Let's find out just how irrelevant this would be if he actually did that.
The U.S. has about 5,500 nukes; even assuming we could put them all on moon rockets, there's no possible way they could blow up the moon. But how much would they move it if they all hit on the same side? Overestimating them at 20 megatons each, that's a total of 5,500 * 20 * 4.184×10^15 joules, about half of which would go into the Moon, so about 2.3012×10^20 joules. The moon has a mass of about 7.347×10^22 kilograms, so using KE = (1/2)M*(V^2) and assuming the Moon doesn't heat up at all [which is ridiculous], delta-V = SquareRoot(2*KE/M) = SquareRoot(2*2.3012×10^20/7.347×10^22) = 0.0791 m/s = 7.91 cm/s. So, the bombs would nudge the Moon, orbiting Earth at about a kilometer per second, by a whopping 8 centimeters per second; a change of less than 0.01%. Mission accomplished! |

Is...is that Prince Xizor? Holy balls.
I would totally point out Yaya Han right now on the subject of costumes but her site seems to be down.

Well, obviously they'll have a deep sea drilling team to put all the nukes into some critical fault or something. And once Hollywood physics are in play, no math can save you.

Good thing no one told Bruce Willis that.
