I am tossing in my hat as interested in the RP for this. Got a question or two, though, that I am curious about.

1. Is magic trained, gifted or inherently born with and with talent, grows with the person? I am just curious if a mage has to go back to a teacher to read books to gain power.

2. As for the LP each character gets, for weapon and magics, can we say, pump three LP's into the same catagory, starting off with a Mastery in something, or are we capped to a certain place at character creation?

Well, I'm back, and I've got a solid idea of what I want from my character. I just want to know one final thing. What can you tell me about the Islands of the Vitan Archipelago? I want to choose a location to come from.

@ Malkadocian: Okay, let me spill how magic works.

The main religion is based on the concept that Galvantyne Kingdom's Lord Amon (and every other god in every other religion for that matter) are hackers. Y'see, the general concensus is that everything, living and nonliving, is made up of "Divine Data". Divine Data in its raw, "decrypted" form, is more or less the Lifestream that makes the world go 'round.

Encrypted Divine Data is what everything is made of, including people and magic. People who can use magic essentially possess the ability to encrypt Divine Data into magic, though they can only do it in low level forms. In other words, while a human can shoot a fire ball and cause a tornado, gods themselves reserve the right to encrypt Divine Data into people and into planet-obliterating energy balls.

It is considered a generally dislikeable trait to try and become a god by mastering supreme levels of Divine Data encryption and decryption. There are even races that dislike the concept of "stepping on God's turf" and have dedicated themselves to becoming strong without the need of dabbling in magic.

Now, to answer your other question, the only real consideration for mastery limits is in the Rusher class. Rushers aren't strong enough to wield large assault level weapons. And why would they? Rushers like to be fast, and having a boomerang bigger than Cloud's Buster Sword would only slow them down.

@ secretskull: When it comes to my RPs, I try to leave the world outside of the story open-ended as I believe it allows the players to be just about anything they want (within reason) from just about any background. If you think a character would need an extremely weird situation to have come around, invent it and let me know and we'll work it in.

Ok I would like to flag my interest in this, I am at school right now but will create a character sometime after school today. I got a good forcer character in mind.

Yeah, take your time. It won't actually start on Saturday. I hate delaying it like this but I didn't count on this new block of school being so long and frustrating. Fortunately, I now have a four-day weekend, which I plan to use for the soul purpose of getting those spell lists out to you all and creating the sprites I intend to use for at least the first few battle zones.

Yes, there'll be pictures containing sprites and whatnot from the start to the end of each battle. I'm certain you'll agree that a pre-battle MS Paint style picture will convey information more rapidly and clearly than a lengthy post and additional pictures will keep even those who lag behind updated within minutes without having to skim through several pages.

Ok I have question about LP. Since I am going for a force user can I say have Ice Expert and Fire expert, because that would be 6 LP right. Or is that not how the LP system works. Could it be that each LP allows you to "buy" a new spell?

Elemental Mastery/ies: Three LP's in Wind, and Three in Lightning

Appearance: Long white hair, dischelved and unkempt, hanging down to the middle of his back. His face is worn and battered from years of poor conditions and abuse from his captors. His back (should one ever see it bare) would show a host of whip scars, long having grown into a mass of scar tissue. He stands close to six feet tall, but weighs only one hundred and fifty pounds. It is obvious he has been underfed for quite a while, and his body has suffered as a result. His eyes are a pale blue, though occasionally might see the tiniest of lightning cross from one side of his pupil to the other.

Personality/ies: Leraje is a hardened man, formed by nearly 20 years in a prison cell. He is as callous this day, as he was the day he was put into the longest "home" he's ever known. He exalts in the power he wields, in the knowledges that he has gleaned. The sky and lightning are his playthings, are his tools, are his weapons. He values his freedom more than anything else... and would do anything to have it, once more. Anything.

Backstory: Leraje was not born a murderer. He was born in a small village in the high mountains. The law records that he came from a small family. It his fascination with birds, their flight, and the power that it granted, that first led him to seek out a teacher for learning how to wield Divine Data. Who his teacher was, is not record, as he has never been found, nobody has come forward to admit such, and Leraje will refuse to speak of it. Leraje first came to the attention of the law at age 19, when he was refusing to obey the wishes of a local bartender, and in his rage, killed the officers that came to remove him. He ran for three years, using his impressive magics to kill those who tried to stop him. Until finally, the Kingdom sent their own agents after him. In the end, Leraje was bound and captured, and five mage agents were dead. He was dumped off in a cell in a deep part of a dungeon. Runes (or whatever else would work) were inscriped all around him, preventing his use of the Divine Data. His name is still whispered in fear by the towns he passed through...

@ rapter200: You're right. Magic LPs go towards levels of mastery, not simply specific spells.

Incidentally, tactics do work best with a mixture of classes, but I fully intend to compensate for weak links in the selection process (like if everyone creates a Forcer profile). I have a broad arsenal of individuals from a variety of classes that will pick up the class slack.

I only hold the players to one rule regarding race: nothing too big. That being said, most common races are usually of the Humanoid category. Humanoids (only living ones) have standard physical and magical resistance and are generally well balanced. Anything beyond that norm, like being an intelligent dog like thing, a large talking bird, a fairy, a vampire, a ghost, etc...will have different statistics from a freeform standpoint. For example, a spectral character has better defense against material non-enhanced weapons, but will not deal good physical damage themselves. They will be best at casting magic, but also receive more damage from spells as well. If someone wants to create a race that is different from standard humanoids (something undead, something with wings, etc.) then please ask about it before setup of the profile.

Ok I'll bite. I'd like to ask about the different statistics of vampires. I plan on making a charcter who was transformed into one by gross misuse of Divine Data.
