When the game finally came out, they actually extended the thirty day trial an extra month because the problems everyone had with it. That was nifty.

I got a beta key for XIV but kinda gave up and deleted it for space. I assume they worked out the awful menu/selecting stuff lag?

The lag got better toward the end of beta but was never really fixed. I'd assume they continued to work on it after release, but I was out of work at the time. I have a job now but the pay is too shitty to waste on FFXIV in its current situation.

Point being I'm not sure how much menu lag remains.

Except for "video game music" there generally seems to be very little overlap between musical tastes on this board.

Also made me sad because I'm not much of an active listener of VGM. Never really understood it. Every once in a while I'll turn on FF9 OST or maybe even FF:CC if I'm feeling... whatever you have to feel to listen to that.

I ran into a few people with similar tastes as me on here. In some aspects anyway. Any time I plugged Protest the Hero or The Human Abstract no one cared but more popular metal was discussable. Typically I find the interbasementnet dwellers to either be into metal or electronic music more likely than not.

I also don't get electronic music.

But lots of people don't get my music, so thats okay.

Edit: I was never a big fan of the Beatles. In fact, most classics are pretty lame to me. I always felt like the "Everything new is based around it!" argument to be flawed in that most things now should then be better than the past things. Like, Metallica for example. They are now massively boring because everyone took their sound and then expanded it. Plus a million people copied it and I grew up with those million people. So I just can't appreciate Metallica like I'm supposed to.
