Does anyone have enough a knowledge of proteins to remind me if that whole thing about those incomplete prion proteins that cause most of the cannibalism based diseases are caused by the consumption of nervous tissue of your own species?

despite what most think, no group of humans has ever been proven to eat its own kind as a main part of its diet. So called Cannibal tribes ate their dead as a religious ceremony and to show they weren't doing it for nutrition would let the body rot for a few days first. Those illnesses were caused by this.

In fact since proteins do not need to be broken down, and the proportions are exactly what you require, humans are the most nutritional thing one can eat.

Haven't you guys ever heard of head cheese? I used to like it when I was younger, but not so much now. The flavour's not that great, and it's also kinda risky to eat meat from that part of an animal.

Misconception. Eating the bodies of the dead just reintroduces the prions into the bodies of more living members of the species. That's why there was that massive mad cow disease outbreak, they were feeding the cows other dead cows.
