It felt like you were saying we will require killing in order to solve the problem. That is incorrect. Killing will address symptoms of the problem while the disease becomes further entrenched.

Exactly. We must dictate the terms of combat. Not them. Killing them is only but a temporary bandage on a Generational problem.

As I noted above shiney, what the Father said in his letter is what it takes to defeat Daesh. What it takes is Muslim Reformists getting help from us to spread a message of tolerance and peace while making the other side look less and less desirable. What it takes is things like a hashtag (#NotInMyName) and the people making a clear statement in their own religion that this is intolerable. Women going topless in Lebanon and burning the flag Daesh uses while giving out a middle finger for all to see as a message to these Mass Murdering Assholes.

That is the kind of thing we need to fight a mindset like Daesh.

The mindset we don't need is the one the GOP is currently going gun-ho about...and when the Christians who support you are saying you are being idiotic and do not want to support the idea of not helping the Syrian Refugees...well I doubt none of the GOP 2016 Clown Brigade have the sense to shut up and take notice that they are pissing off their base.

They aren't pissing off their base but they are losing the more moderate members of their Party. They are going to double, triple, and quadruple down to try to sell fear to the populace. It's only going to get worse for the next several weeks until the collective American apathy moves on to the next shiny thing.
