Like Duke Nukem and Serious Sam (some of my favorite FPS's), Timesplitters: Future Perfect does have its comedic moments, but nothing really worth laughing at.

Good Enough. All 3 are cheap now. How is Serious Sam?

Also, this goes for 3rd Person Shooters too.

Serious Sam is a lot of fun.

It also gets pretty hard in the later levels, when you're facing about fifty monsters at once.

The bosses are really impressive though. Most of them, at least.

And the enemies are great. Kamikazie bombers? Hell yes, I will!

C&C: Renegade is also a lot of fun. It doesn't have much comedy in it, but it's a fun game, and the multiplayer is very good.

Just make sure you're good at the game before going into the multiplayer. It's actually really easy to get shot to pieces while the others dodge you with ease.

The action is pretty relentless from start to finish. The battles are split between indoors where you may only face dozens of monsters at a time and outdoors where you'll mow 'em down by the hundreds, possibly thousands. There are a lot of arena like areas where you just drop 'em all in massive waves of enemies. The distance you can see and shoot is extremely far so you'll see the legions coming at you long before they reach you. There's a huge variety of enemies as well.

It's just basically a huge one-man slaughterfest in ancient human civilizations.

I had Serious Sam II for Xbox for a short time. It was pretty funny at times, but was overall... meh. Wasn't as good as the sales clerk said it was.

I know it's not an FPS, but Splinter Cell is a definite pick.

Probably look into the PS2 Serious Sam, and the first Timesplitters as well.

Buy it. Even if you don't like it, you might be able to sell it at a good price on eBay. Better yet, call up a used game store and ask how much they'll buy it for.

Do the SS games ussually have co-op? Same question goes for the Time Splitters games.

Time to get Serious! SS rocks, especially because it allows for rocket jumping, team baiting and plain old heart attacks caused by a caffine OD when you try to play straight through. The later levels are straight up insane, and the 3d setting of the game allows for waves of monsters to come from every direction... I still have flashbacks. Seriously though get this for the PC, it plays sooo much better when your reaction speed and accuracy are tops.
