Everyone? I don't believe that I ever said that. I DO believe I said people seem to think they're hot when they have ribs poking out, but I'd rather have a girlfriend who's a bit overweight than one I'd have a compulsion to stuff a hamburger in the mouth of.



Edit: Maybe I should have been clearer I was talking about the American concept of beauty instead of weight statistics, but it made sense to me when I was typing it.

Depending on the exact game, some of them are pretty fun. I'm not a big fan of the "visual novel" types where all you do is make a few choices, but the sim ones can be great. I can't even read the text in Tokimeki Memorial, but I know enough anime cliches to pretty much know what's going on, and I still enjoy playing through it every so often(I never go for anyone but Yuina Himoo anyway). It's got that quirky Japanese humour to it, especially when it starts parodying other genres. There's this whole tactical element to it as well, where you need good stats to help you meet and get girls to like you, but then you run into this problem because you're trying to get a good relationship with one and the others are all getting in the way, so you have to manage things very carefully.

Some of the flash-based ones you find on Newgrounds are alright too.

I don't really get into most dating sims, but Persona 3 and 4 have a lot of elements of the sim ones. I have played a few visual novels, like Kira Kira. I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to it, but it is pretty much awesome just because there's an interview where your character is trying to pick the most "punk" responses to the questions. It was hilarious just because of how ridiculous it is.
