I can honestly feel for the lady. Some of my closest friends and me hadn't spent any really time together in some time. We were simply too busy. So when we finally got together we really went overboard. I can't tell you how much we drank. Basically cause I couldn't remember. All I could really remember was the house spinning and waking up under a coffee table. So basically, she was respected for her work talents right? It probably means she didn't have time to blow off steam. Getting too caught up with work doesn't mix too well when you get some time off. She could also be a lightweight drinker.

Some people just like to play hard. It's really not that big of a deal, although as a rule I tend to avoid the hardcore party girls just 'cause I've generally found them to be manipulative and high maintenance elsewise.

I'm sure something similar is true of men.

Trust me, she gets around to partying. Every weekend her facebook status has something or other written about how wasted she was/who she had sex with. She's not a lightweight per say, but she went to town. I mean, there was an entire little table filled with glasses and beer bottles that were just her. Oh, and then she bought a round of patrone (sp?) shots for us and then like 3 more for her afterward.

I appreciate the insight, like I said it was my first holiday party. I can see people drinking and having a good time, but I dunno, I feel like there's a line or something that one shouldn't cross when you're at a party where your boss is. I mean, she was practically falling over the place and one of the bosses had to prop her up as she was making "beep" noises while they tried to find her a ride home.

Personally I feel that as long as nobody (besides yourself) gets hurt (emotionall or physically) it's pretty much ok. Of course, there are those people who are just super annoying when drunk, but maybe that's a bit of a different thing.

Partying is the main means many people use to escape reality.
