There's also the part where the Fae owned Ireland until the Gaelic tribes assaulted the island, and then when the two met for a treaty the Gaelic were allowed to split the island in half.

They gave the fae the half that was underground, basically banishing them there.

Tautha De Danaan means 'people of the mounds'. They are called that because they were forced to live in underground mounds.

She's approved, welcome to your first NPF RP Gira. Hope you enjoy your stay!

You'll have to wait until my next post is up for Shin to show up - she'll need to be late, unfortunately. Would also like to note that, even without her powers, she should be physically stronger than most of the PCs. Dean might be near that point, what with his weapon and his Love of Strength, but I don't think any one else was that physical?

Next post will come sometime next week. I'd like to wait for Bard or Riin to post, since their characters had been addressed in the previous Prof. Landry speech, and Dal called Sao out just now too. But! If you guys take too long, I'll just move the scene along.

Edit: Sean's also near Shin and Dean's strength level, if appearance is something to go off of.

Yeah Sean's pretty fit.

Anyways, I'll try to get a post, it'll mostly consist of confusion.

Er, frost giant? *raises hand*

Although I suppose most of that is the 'normally stupidly huge' thing. Just wanted to check whether Jo would be a bit stronger than she looks.

No.

Moving on!

I'm very sorry about the substantial delay between my last GM post and this one. Suffice to say, I have been extremely busy the past few weeks and it has been rather difficult to sit down and find the time to type something up. But, excuses aside, I feel the length of this post is suitable for a month of inactivity.

Don't know how many of you are still into this, but I'll keep running it under the assumption that interest remains, until it becomes clear that is doesn't! If you don't want to continue, don't feel like you have to though. I can understand if you just aren't interested, given the time between posts on my part.

Also, since I handed out a bunch of names and new characters, NPC bio time!

Adeline Fletcher, aka Miss Sue.Name: Adeline Fletcher
Gender: Female
Aura: Dark Red
Appearance: A hazel eyed and brown haired girl, Adeline stands at 5'7 and is surprisingly athletic, despite her slim build. Her brown hair hangs down to the middle of her back, and is normally held in a long braid. While she changes her clothes daily, she always has her bright orange backpack nearby at school; most of her outfits seem designed to compliment it.

Abilities:
Miss (Mary) Sue - Professor Landry insists that Miss Sue is the most suitable name for Adeline. If that's really true, who knows what fearsome Sue-like powers Miss Fletcher can invoke! It might be better to never talk to her so you'll never find out.
Mysterious Pendant - A necklace with a shard of yellow opaque stone hanging off it. Adeline mysteriously wore it to her first day of school. Perhaps it is merely a fashion accessory! But, the amount of emphasis that's been placed on the rock makes that seem unlikely - it probably holds the fate of the world?
Orange Backpack - Who knows what's in there!?

Bio: The so-called Miss Sue, Adeline Fletcher is actually the daughter of a pair of extremely wealthy - and entirely mad - scientists who moved to Ansidor recently. Amaranth is the first school she's ever been to, having spent most of her life prior home schooled by highly paid tutors, so she's less then enthused about being here. Of the clubs she's joined, the one Adeline's most looking forward to is the Riding one - she is very fond of horses.

Karen Amsel, the busty blond art teacher.Name: Karen Amsel
Gender: Female
Aura: Light Yellow
Appearance: Stands at 6'2 - when she isn't wearing heels - with flawless alabaster skin, surprisingly pale yellow eyes, and a slim, delicate, build, Karen's one to stand out in a crowd. She seems to prefer to dress in dark colors, but beyond that, varies her outfits daily. Her hair is pale blond and surprisingly thick, though it barely passes her shoulders, and has a slight wave to it.

Abilities:
Art Teacher - Karen's most widely known position in the school is the Art Club Director; consequently, it shouldn't come as a surprise that she herself is a skilled artist. Thanks mainly to her art background, Karen's developed quite the eye for detail, and has a very sharp visual memory. In addition, she's also good at creating costumes and doing make-up; something that's often taken advantage of by the Drama Club during productions.
Shark Fighter - People are usually surprised when she tells them she runs a Shark Fighting Club in her school. But, if you've ever seen her stare down a cougar, this probably makes sense. One can assume Karen's stronger and more dangerous then her elegant and delicate appearance would lead you to believe.
Strange Smile - When she smiles, some people feel weak in the knees. Coincidence?

Bio: One of Amaranth's Club Directors, Karen Amsel has been on Sophia Amaranth's payroll for quite a long time. She doesn't have any legal teaching qualifications, so she's only employed as a Club Director, but is apparently very skilled, with or without a diploma. Karen runs the Art and Shark Fighting Clubs, and has been offered several other positions. As of the moment, she's turned them all down.

Rachel Demia, probably not normal.Name: Rachel Demia
Gender: Female
Aura: White
Appearance: Standing at only 5'3, Rachel's a small girl who many might consider anorexic. Her hair, a straight and dull sandy blond, extends just past her neck and is often covered by a black beret. Her eyes are a very pale shade of blue and - unless closely examined - are often mistaken for white, which can be more than a little unnerving. Nix, her dark haired cloth doll, is rarely ever far from her reach and seems to have emulated Rachel's fondness of goth-like clothing. Like Rachel, Nix also has a beret.

Abilities:
Talks to her Doll - Sometimes, its cute when little girls pretend their dolls can talk. Rachel really thinks Nix is alive though, and can sometimes be seen in animated discussions with her! It isn't creepy until you find out Rachel's at least twenty years old.
Canvas Bag - A slim light brown bag meant to be worn over one shoulder. Rachel carries a variety of colored pens, pencils and a notebook in it during the rare times she's seen outside of the art room. She seems to take art very seriously, but her beret probably told you that. Most of the pages of her notebook appeared to be scribbled over in red ink; which probably for the best.
Glowing Eyes - Sometimes, her eyes glow.

Bio: A young girl who always seems to be in the art room. There appears to be some confusion about whether or not she's even enrolled in the school, or ever leaves it. Most people avoid her, with good reason.

Alphonse Shuyin, the Professor of Manners and Etiquette.Name: Alphonse Shuyin
Gender: Male
Aura: Dark Red
Appearance: 5'10, slimly built, well-muscled, amber eyed and with a hint of a tan on his flawless skin, Shuyin's a good example of an adult Bishonen. His hair, which is naturally azure in color, hangs down past the small of his back and is extremely well cared for. Alphonse seems to like wearing suits, as that's what he comes dressed in nearly every day - if with some slight variation on the color and style.

Abilities:
Master of Manners - Shuyin's normally a very polite, charming and pleasant man to speak with; likely because he specializes in the area of ettiquette. Unfortunately for all of you, Professor Landry brings out the worst in this normally mild-mannered man. His fans, of course, insist that Landry starts all the fights.
Defensive Fighter - Surprisingly, Professor Shuyin has received extensive martial arts training, and has earned a black belt in at least one style. The rare times he does fight though, Shuyin rarely attacks; his preferred style mainly focuses on defense; it’s impolite to injure your assailants, especially when they're of inferior skill.
Folding Fan - Shuyin actually carries multiple folding fans, all of which are identical, bearing the design of a white crane in flight on a tangerine orange backdrop, hidden on his person. He's able to wield them effectively in battle, but seems to dislike using them so violently. It should be noted, however, that some of his fans contain hidden blades.

Bio: Alphonse Shuyin, who prefers to be called by his last name, is one of the Professors at the Amaranth Institute for the Gifted. He and Professor Landry have, through some sick twists of fate, crossed paths at nearly every stage of their lives; they grew up in the same neighbourhood, went to the same University in Europe and were both hired to work in Amaranth High in the same year. This would be good, if the two didn't seem to hate each other.

In addition to running a homeroom class, Professor Shuyin periodically attends Martial Art clubs for demonstrations, teaches ballroom dancing in the dance club, and assists in costuming and make-up for the Drama Club. It shouldn't be surprising that the school has a fan club devoted to him as well.

I thought about doing a write-up for the Grim Reaper, but decided against it. His name's Johnny Skelenbones, but I don't think I'll reveal anything else about him, his role in the classroom or whether or not he's actually the Grim Reaper. He is male though.

Other bits of information worth noting: Michael still doesn't know the blond teacher (Karen's) name, I just used it to make writing the post itself easier. Karen's accent messed with Rachel's name (called her Vachel) when she introduced her to Michael, so, feel free to play with that if you want; it isn't a typo. Landry's classroom is pretty much dark right now - so it is possible that you could have snuck out. All injuries from the lightbulbs were minor.

Beyond that, for the next few posts, I've decided to give you a lot more freedom in deciding what to do. Talk to other PCs, explore the school, or (if you can find a way) I'll allow you all to control your own NPCs for a while longer, so you can write a scene with them in it. Just keep in mind that any of them, who are students, will still be in homeroom for a little over two hours.

Could always text them? Or skip straight to lunch, that's fine too. Timelines won't be in perfect sync here.

If there's any players who want to write a scene in an area I haven't described yet, but don't want to cut your post in half (or a quarter, or something) waiting for me to reply and describe the setting, PM me where you want to go and I'll give you the details. This might also be an important step when creating a new teacher for your NPCs.

Oh, I'll also be sending out a few PMs with Non-General Knowledge to players (things their characters would know, but I haven't mentioned) as it becomes important. Please don't share these - I'm using PMs for a reason.

Are there questions?

It's a 2+ hour long homeroom? And Laundry is keeping the students late? How exactly does the school schedule work?

Its purposely meant to be confusing!

Simple Schedule:

9:00 am - 12:00 pm: Homeroom Class
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Free Period (Lunch)
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Club Time(s)

To explain a little, Homeroom Class is a combination of what the school considers core subjects, like math, history, current events and 'practical' skills. The homeroom teacher is able to modify this curriculum - to a point. Most just add their own specialties to it. Homeroom doesn't always start at nine and doesn't always last until noon, but it is expected that students will attend it - unless they've made arrangements otherwise.

The free period is traditionally thought of as lunch, but there's no requirement to eat or anything. Most teachers do that though, some clubs are closed in this time period consequently. Students can, in theory, go home without penalty at this point as well.

Clubs are a little more confusing. Club Heads (or whatever title they like) typically stay in their room all day (save at lunch) in case some students decide to skip homeroom and come work independently. Club times are just times in the schedule when 'scheduled' clubs run - ones like the Shark Fighting Club that require teacher supervision or student run fan clubs - and when students are encouraged to attend at least one of their registered groups.

Note that every student must spend a minimum of an hour a week in all their registered clubs. They are encouraged to be there for more than that, as most clubs have work they'll need to do and the club heads are happy to help (not to mention the clubs are suspiciously well supplied), but there's no compulsion beyond that.

I'll send out some PMs to give out more information on what kind of schedules your clubs have. Should have it before the weekend.

Is everyone on the same page?

Students would have been sent handbooks with this kind of information in it, though not in as concise form. The first homeroom is normally meant to fix this, but Professor Landry ended her's before you got to these issues.

Too bad?

Finally posted! So, anyone want to volunteer for first interview? Di'll be after every single one of you over the course of the RP, getting it over with sooner rather than later may be a good idea.

Clubs have been sent out, please ask questions if you've got some. I have a list of all the clubs I've created too, so if someone wants a copy, ask.

In addition, I'll outline the general functions of some of the building's used in the school. The layout generally places letters of the alphabet together. Note that student dorms are, for the moment, going to be left located ambiguously. They may receive a building assignment eventually, or they might just be a stand alone numbered complex.

A - The Principle's Office is located here - it's also in the center of the school grounds. Faculty have a lunchroom here as well. Its generally the place to look for teachers who aren't in their usual rooms.

C - The school's hockey complex, designed like a commercial arena, it contains a handful of restaurants and four floors of seats. Also does ice dancing shows and the like. Its very high class. The seats are separated from the ice by plastic and heated - they're more like restaurants than bleachers. Surprisingly popular place to study.

D - The main cafeteria. Students eat for free.

F - The computer clubs meet here. There's free Wi-Fi and spare machines for students to use, even if they are a year or two old.

G - the sports complex. It contains the practice rooms for sports teams that don't need particularly specialized areas, as well as indoor courts for things like tennis and racket ball. If you're looking for a club that does physical things, this is usually the place to start.

H - the pool complex. There are several pools here. Students swim for free!

J - Baseball Field, its a entirely outdoor, so more a designated area than a building.

L - The Library. Most the rooms in this building are made by strategically arranged bookshelves. It can be easy to get lost here. Only the first three floors have books, the fourth is protected by a locked door.

M - A strange, three story, slab of stone topped by a garden. People avoid it for some reason. Near Building A.

Y - A field reserved for the track and field team. It has some tracks and some fields.

Z - the animal building. Most clubs that deal with animals meet here, most notably the riding club.

Misc - there are two tracks surrounding the school. A small one, for students to run on, and a larger one reserved for horses. How wonderful!

Will also post sometime soon, today or tomorrow, to respond to the responses I've gotten. Unless there's a lot more posts first, I suppose.
