Lovers' quarrel

Palkia fell on one knee, breathing heavily after another False Swipe from Elizabeth's Sceptile. "It's ready!" Liz said. Taking a Snagball, she kissed it before throwing it with unerring accuracy at Palkia. The Legendary Dragon was engulfed in while light and the ball fell to the ground. One, twicer, three times it shuddered before stopping with a satisfying beep.

"Hey!" Pierce shouted as Elizabeth picked up the ball and recalled both her pokemon. "What do you think you're doing?" This was the next part of her plan, he knew, and he knew she knew he knew, so he recalled Metagross and approached her.

"This was my job, Pierce. I'm leaving now." She replied, smiling.
"And you think I'm just going to let you walk away with my pokemon."

She closed the distance between them, so they were standing a hair's breadth apart. "I- I know. I know you won't, Pierce. I was... so angry at you for leaving. Horace called saying the job was about you, and I thought I wanted to hurt you. But I don't. I'm sorry, for everything. I still love you."
She kissed him. Pierce remembered what it was like being kissed by her, and he remembered her smell. Strawberries and cinnamon. It was intoxicating.

So much so he almost didn't feel a small prick on the left side of his neck. "Wh-" his hand rose, swatting the syringe away, but then fell back down limply as the drug took effect. He fell forward as his body gave away, Elizabeth catching his weight and moving away slowly, lowering him down on a couch, his right hand falling from inside his jacket. "Don't worry. It'll wear off in a few minutes."

Liz turned away from him, toward Violet, who had thus far remained silent. Stepping forward, she hugged her partner in crime warmly. "Thanks for everything. You're fired." She said smiling.
"You too. See you around." Violet replied.

Elizabeth left the room the same way Pierce came in, and Pierce's head split open again.

"You're leaving."

They stood on a rooftop, watching the sunset. His back was turned away from her as he lookedto the horizon. Her eyes were watery, but she didn't let the tears fall. "Yes."

"Why?"
"I can't do this anymore."
"You're leaving m- this, because of what happened?"
"And you want to keep going like nothing happened?"
"Yes, Pierce!" Her voice rose. "It was terrible! But it wasn't your fault!"
"I made my choice! All those years ago! That makes me responsible!"
They were yelling now.
"And you think you can forget everything, become a minimum wage police bitch toeing the line?"

He turned to her, his body framed against the sunset, and he hugged her.

"It's all I can do."
"Damn you, Pierce Granger." Tears fell freely from her eyes.

They stayed that way, for a while, until she broke the silence.

"Don't leave. Please don't leave." She begged. She never begged.
"I'm sorry."

It was a good round, but things took a turn for the worse.
Holy shit!

Around twenty mechanical enemies suddenly marched into view, heading straight for them. Where the hell did anyone find time to build these?

Team Killdoll Phase (Turn 1)
- Enemy reinforcemens have arrived en masse.
- Team Impact has their shit wrecked.

It was a slaughter. Most of the enemies weren't Killdolls dealing paltry damage, after all. The Watchmen fell almost all at the same time under the collective onslaught.

They all lay on the floor struggling as the enemies prepared to deal the killing blow, when suddenly the hallway exploded. Heat crashed against their bodies as they were thrown back a few feet, more heat than an explosion should have given off. They fell unconscious.

"Hey!" Lola said, rousing Impact awake. "You okay, leader?"
"What the hell happened?" Mirror asked a few feet away from Impact.
"I don't know. Whatever it was must have been behind the bots."
"I wonder what it was."
"I woke up first, and I didn't see anyone. Just whats left of the robots. Take a look."

Impact looked down the hallway at the charred and melted remains of their enemies. What on earth could have done that?

The air was still hot from whatever it was, so a lot of the team was sweating. Lola panted a bit, ignoring her sweat matted fur as she tended to everyone's wounds.


A new member has joined the party!

"You finally with me?" Violet asked as Pierce regained consciousness.
Pierce got up slowly, shaking his head to get rid of the groginess, if not the non-relenting headache. "Why are you still here?"
"I'm coming with you, of course."
"Yeah, right. Let's assume for a moment that I trust you. Why the hell would I want to take you along?"
"Because I have the cardkey you need to get through the next three floors." Violet folded her arms, smiling triumphantly.
"I could just take it from you." Pierce replied, standing up straight now.
"I can help you. I don't entirely know what happened with you and Lizzie, or what Horace wants with you, but I can guide you through this place."

"And believe me, in the state you're in, you look like you could use all the help you can get." She added. "I thought you worked for PATCA? Why not get your team to help?"
He frowned. "I'm not asking them. Wouldn't be able to now anyway."

Pierce stood silent for a while, and Violet started tapping her foor impatiently.
"So?"
"I'm thinking."
"Well hurry up."
"Alright, fine. You can follow me, but stay out of my way."

Violet rolled her eyes exasperatedly, stepping to the elevator and running her card over the slot next to it. "Let's get going, then."

"So, uhhh..." Mio hesitated. "Down the elevator?"
Was the bitch kidding? Look at what happened to the people who were at the other end of that elevator!
"I like the idea," Melanie said.
Oh, god, it's contagious!
And Kirie's crazy ass was already in the elevator.

"Well, they may have the right idea," Cecilia said, trying the door that Pierce had gone through before. "We're not going to be making any progress this way."

Then that indeed left the elevator. Cecilia turned away from the door. "Cassus, right? What do you know about what attacked us?"
"I heard about them, vaguely," Cassus said. "Ruin Pokemon, I think they were called. Not really my area of expertise. I'm just a guardsman."
"How far does that elevator go?"
"All the way to 7B," Kirie said, observing the buttons. "But it's severely locked down. Only the fifth basement is accessible from here."
"Just the fifth one?"
Kirie exited the elevator. "All of the other floors except the fifth basement has more of those red lights on 'em. The fifth basement is the only one with a green light. I'm just assuming, really."

That made sense. Mio talked about the floors she knew enough about. The fifth and sixth basements were all about experiments. It only made sense that the Ruin Pokemon would come from there.
They left Cassus behind as their only contact with the outside world and, with nothing else to discuss, continued their journey. The gore-filled elevator took them down to the fifth basement, regardless of the fact that they tried all of the other buttons.
The fifth basement was an absolute bloodbath. Dead scientists, dead experiments of some sort, and lots of destroyed equipment. And then they heard the voice that they were hoping had died in this massacre the most.

"Moera here. Professor Faynoc and the relic are still safe, aren't they? Ground level should be clear. Gransrax's Ruin Pokemon are returning from topside.
Moera's voice came from outside the elevator and off to the right. "You should always finish what you start," Mio said to Charlotte as they exited the elevator and, with a quick check to the left for other enemies, gave Moera their full attention. Moera was looking back at them, and sighed in disappointment. "Why did I bother thinking I'd never have to deal with you fuckers again? I mean, c'mon. Twice wasn't enough?"

This time, Moera was heavily armed, and if that didn't create enough trouble, she instinctively created Psyshades of the entire formation with Psytellite support. Fortunately, she didn't bother with a shield. But judging from all the destroyed equipment suddenly rising from the floor on its own, the Psystorm was going to be making a comeback. "Honestly, I don't give a damn about that crazy bastard of a father," Moera Faynoc told them. "But there are things far greater than he and I that the poor fool has stumbled upon."
Moera lifted her horrific left hand. "Like this. The Chroma Fragment."
A shining bed of crystal shards protruded from the strange flesh that covered Moera's abominable hand. And there were small, thin tentacles protruding from those crystal shards. "You are Charlotte Beaufort, the current trainer of Arceus, correct? That Pokemon has a far greater destiny than being the whipping boy of some menstruating, heartless bitch. I'd ask you to relinguish him to me and then leave, but I'm certain I'm the last person you'd listen to."
"Person? You? You make it sound like you're a human."

Cecilia's best attempt at a cutdown, ladies and gentlemen.

"Being human is so overrated. Just ask any Pokebrid, right Mio?"
"Everything I do, I do for the sake of my mother."
"And if mommy dearest asked you to jump off of a cliff, would you?"
"My mother doesn't ask. She commands. And I obey."
Moera shrugged. "To each his or her own, I suppose. Anyways, it seems we cannot reach an agreement. Herego, our weapons will speak for us."

"It can hit the enemy as well. Anyways, we can't even begin to hurt Moera without taking down the Matthias and Charlotte Psyshades first."

"Hey, we busted your broke-ass shit!" Mirror taunted at the unseen enemies. Lying isn't nice, Mirror. "So just show yourselves so we can break you as well!"
"Break them real good," Kurika said, muscles flexing.

But there was no response to their challenges. The facility remained soundless.
"You know? It's the lack of response that freaks me out the most," Mirror admitted.

Moving forward, they made their way to the next basement, which was just as eerily quiet. After entering a recreational room much like the one Pierce had been in before, not that they knew it, with four exits, one on each side including the one they came in through. Before they could say anything about which way to go, though, voices broke the silence.

"Yep. We've got what we need and we're getting out of here."
"Ri Ri!"
A giggle. "Yes, and we'll take a bath together.

Impact's team watched as what could only be described as a blonde bombshell walked into the room. She wore boots, unbelievably short, tight shorts, a tool belt with a gas mask hanging from a strap, and a pink top tied up around her front. Her arms were folded under her bust to... support the Riolu riding between her ample cleavage.

Lucky sunuvabitch.

Elizabeth Irons stopped short the moment she saw Impact's team standing there ready for a fight. "Oh, you must be PATCA. If you're looking for Pierce, he'll be further down. Everything interesting is further down, really. Faynoc's experiments running wild, Ginnungagap the Legendary Pokebrid machine, AIda and the big man himself. It's pretty crazy." She said conversationally, bending over to let Riolu down, earning her a reproachful look from the blue pokemon.

"Omigoditsocu-" Lola began, preparing to rush over and fawn all over Riolu before a jab in the ribs from Mirror brought her back to her senses. She stood up straight, clearing her throat. "Err... sorry."

Elizabeth giggled. Don't worry about it, it happens all the time. I mean, just look at him. You can't resist that cute face, begging you to take him home and pet him all day." As she talked, Riolu looked up at them with wide eyes, tongue hanging out of his smiling mouth. "Ri! Olu!"

"Ahem. Just who are you, miss?" Kurika inquired.
"Oh, I'm an old friend of Pierce's. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've really got to get going."
"I don't think so." Mirror said, as she and the team got into fighting stances. "We've got some questions to ask you, like how you came to be here and what your relation to Agent Granger is."

Liz just smiled. "Oh, of course." Suddenly, her hand moved to her belt, and the Watchmen were just about to attack when they realized she was grasping at air. "Hey! Where's my- Ooooh, that sneaky son of a bitch took it! When I get my hands on him-" She sighed, calming herself. "Plan B it is." With a swift move, one hand reached for her pokeballs, while the other undid her top.

Great...

Big...

Perky...

Awesome...

Bliss...

And then she was gone. So was Riolu. They heard the distinct sound of the door they had come in through being welded shut, probably with a fire pokemon. They could probably open it again, but it would take too long and they would just be moving backwards. They'd just trust the team outside to capture her.

"You know" Whitney remarked. "I don't really play for the other team but as far as breasts go that was a nice pair."

Everyone else gave silent signs of agreement.

With no real cue to keep moving, Impact's team proceeded further down the same way Elizabeth had come in, but they barely made the next corner before they saw one of the most effective barriers ever. A soupy miasma of wavy violet and black. They were only in the third basement level so far.
"Toxic gas?" Whitney asked no one in particular.
"Very heavy toxic gas," Lola said, taking out a small device and tossing it into the miasma, then checking the readings with a scanner. "We'd be dropped is less than five seconds from breathing that stuff."
Whitney looked to her left and saw a door. A quick inspection proved what was pretty obvious. The door was locked. "In hindsight, we should've brought gasmasks," Whitney said. "We can't go any farther without wading through that stuff."
"Hang on, I'll try to make some," Mirror said, fishing out some materials and getting to work. "This must have been why we only fought constructs. They don't breathe like us, so there was no concern about combat in a toxic environment."

Suddenly, a very large shape began to stir from within the dark miasma. It was difficult to see it because of the sheer thick obscurity the miasma granted.
"I'm afraid that won't be necessary."
Mirror ignored the fact that the Poison Ruin General, Gransrax, had just revealed himself to them. Making gasmasks was more important.

The Poison Ruin General was a terror to behold. Standing about four meters tall despite being quite hunched over, Gransrax literally exhaled toxic fumes. His body was surprisingly smooth and shiny, like a wet salamander. His maw was split into six pieces, each lined with rows of flesh-rending teeth. A single large eyeball beheld the agents from within that maw. The green saliva that dripped from that maw melted the very ground that it dripped upon. And the claws on its hands and feet were as long as claymores. Gransrax's body was built much like a hunter from Resident Evil, a broad back with long, powerful arms meant to use those large claws for tearing people apart. If they could survive the chemical smog blubbering out of its various body vents long enough to be butchered.

Gransraw then lurched forward.

He vomited things onto the floor.

The vomited things moved.

The vomited things moved fast.

"Soften their meat so that I might consume them more easily," Gransrax demanded.
They were revolting. They were about as long as a human arm, with centipede-like legs emerging from the length of the arm. Their heads were actually shaped like a misshapen human hand. Each finger ended in a thin raking claw, with a slit in the palm that opened to expose insect-like manibles dripping with toxin. Their skin tone even matched those of humans. Sickening.

The first of the things crept up on them fast and, recoiling much like a rattlesnake, leapt at Lola with a high-pitched shriek...and was then struck from the side and send into the nearby wall, bleeding from being cut neatly in half. Lola looked towards the source and saw her knight in shining armor.
"Wyatt?"
"Renny!"
Renny, having used his newfound powers to teleport right on in, didn't have a whole lot of time to look cool and heroic because the door Whitney checked only a couple minutes ago just exploded from inside.
"Gransrax is detected. Move in and secure."
Impact and Renny knew that radio chatter. Instinctively, he ordered the group away from Gransrax and the door as soldiers of the Honmyr Prideguard entered the garage. Some of them trained weapons on Gransrax. The others trained weapons on Impact and the other agents.
"Damn! The agency is here! Fuckin' take 'em all out!"

"Renny, come give us a hand, we need you!" Lola energetically waved to him.
"That's a large enemy force," Whitney breathed.
"We've got them in a pincer," Mirror noted. "They'll have to devote soldiers both to defend against us and Gransrax."
"Oh, that's the Poison Ruin General?" Lola asked, turning back towards the enemy.
"Lexhur's description is pretty spot on, besides the huge plume of toxin is a dead giveaway."

Just as the Prideguard got ready to attack Gransrax, a handful of the creatures that were slipping out of Gransrax's maw leapt and evaded their way to fight PATCA head on.
"So weird," Kurika said. "Three groups, each trying to kill the other two."

"We may have to deal with them in time," Mirror said. "But not now. Gransrax is certain to be a powerful monster that will demand their attention."

Pierce isn't having a very good day

Pierce, Elizabeth's revolver inside his jacket pocket, with Violet in tow exited the elevator on the fourth floor. As expected, some of the doors were locked with no hope of opening them, confining the two to one path. "He's leading you where he wants you to go, you know." Violet said. Pierce didn't reply. Soon the hallways became wider. Wide enough that Pierce deployed Adamantitar, who walked in front of them ready to face any danger.

On and on they walked. As the rounded a corner, the floor erupted as Adamantitar was struck by two Earthquake attacks, followed by a Focus Blast. Caught unawares, Adamantitar slammed hard into the wall. He was struck by two more Earthquakes and was engulfed in light as he returned to his pokeball.

It all happened so quickly that neither Pierce nor Violet had any time to react before Adamantitar went down. Deploying Metagross and Dialga, he rounded the corner to find another face from his past.

"Hey there Pierce." The Floatzel Pokebrid replied, standing between his Mamoswine and Golem.
"Elan. Did you do something with your hair?"
"Heheh. Things like pokebridization proceedures were just some of the things Horace got from Faynoc in exchange for our services."
"Elan, if you don't move I'm going to kill you."
"Hah! That's rich. We both know you don't got it in you to kill anyone, Pierce."
"And even so Horace still liked me better."
"Well he doesn't like you much now, does he? And he'll give me a pretty hefty bonus when I kill you."

Pierce readied his sword. "Stay out of the way." He told Violet.
"The hell I am!" She replied indignantly. "You can't take him on alone."

Pierce rounded on her, rage evident as he repeated: "Stay. Out. Of. The. Way."

Pierce charged forward alongside Metagross and Dialga. He jumped as Golem and Mamoswine both sent out Earthquakes that slammed hard into Metagross and Dialga, and Elan struck Dialga with a Focus Blast. Pierce's sword swung down on Mamoswine, leaving a long gash on it's side. His two pokemon quickly recovered and slammed into Mamoswine with a Meteor Mash and Aura Sphere.

Pierce quickly dodged a Stone Edge from Elan's Golem, but was unable to get out of the way of Mamoswine's Blizzard entirely. It clipped him on the side and sent him flying. Meanwhile, another Focus Blast from Elan was all it took to take down Dialga, returning it to its pokeball.

"Not so hot now, are you?" Elan taunted, snickering.

Oh for the LOVE of... Impact sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose as he surveyed the situation. One of their team way on some idiotic quest to rescue his sister by going in without backup, one had missed a first battle of the mission because he hadn't felt comfortable in his own body. The battle so far had involved armies of automatons, a mysterious rescuer, a female -very obviously and pleasingly female- ally of Pierce's, and now this? Ruin Generals, Prideguard, Faynoc, Pokegeddon, Ruin Pokemon PATCA. These missions were going from precise tactical assaults to massive clusterfucks more and more quickly. But that's the way it was. Time to make the best of it.

"Okay. This is utterly ridiculous. Can I just throw that out there? Ridiculous. Oh, and hold your fire." He added as allies on either side readieded their weapons. "We're gonna do this by the goddamn book." It was a long and uninteresting book, but that made following it to the letter while anihilating opposition all the sweeter. "Attention Prideguard Personnel. This is Captain Impact of the Watchmen. You are interfering with a PATCA operation. We have presidential authority and we will use force. Stand down and you will be put into custody." He paused for a moment, two moments, three moments, then grinned.

"They're noncompliant. Take them out. Renny, so glad you could join us. I don't care what operations you have in the future, but whether you're getting Botox or more pokebrid forms or sex changes, do you think you could schedule them, oh, say, at times when we're not on high mission alert? Thanks. Now put those powers to good use. Who woulda thought that hand-to-hand training would actually be useful? Lola, stim me and Renny. We're gonna need it. Moon, time to build. Make it two evoliths, we could use the extra attacks. One sec." He opened up a comm channel to mission control, and routed all sensor feeds through it. "Irene! Help me coordinate Whitney and Kurika, will you?"

He spoke fast as he readied his flamethrower for attack, all the while designating targets, specifying orders, assigning further priorities. He loved doing this, a wall of enemies, a bunch of allies, initiative. A puzzle, really. One that begin with a thought and ended in destruction. And he was good at planning destruction. He started to sweat as the temperature rose and sunny day came into effect (Irene had come through), felt a tingle as Lola treated him with a syring full of mental stimulant. It was all so... clear. He took aim with the flamethrower, tightened his grip on the trigger. "PATCA. I have just one more order." His grin was still wide on his face as flames started spewing from the end of the Flamethrower, and he would have loved to put on a pair of sunglasses just then... "Fire!"

Renny arrived with his bladed arm slicing across the wretched thing that hurled itself toward Lola. "*Sigh* I wasn't too late. I'm glad you're all ok!" His steps were lively as he rejoined the group at her urging when the Prideguard group burst in.

"Renny, so glad you could join us. I don't care what operations you have in the future, but whether you're getting Botox or more pokebrid forms or sex changes, do you think you could schedule them, oh, say, at times when we're not on high mission alert?"

"Impact!" Renny was merely slightly indiginant, being called out for something that was completely unforeseeable and motivated by helping others and for survival, although still very much pleased to see him alive and well. "I'm sorry. I felt I needed to make myself stronger. We can talk later. And I got a codename now. You can call me Slash."

As Lola drew closer to give him his stim, Renny felt a wave of relief, embaressment and tension, partly steming from his own relief and happiness and partly to his innate and reinforced attraction of the Pokebrid mating season that he hadn't quite gotten used to dealing with, pheremones included.

I'm so... so glad. When I heard that the mission had started without warning and you were sent, I feared the worst..."

Renny caught himself mentally as he pulled out a pokeball and sent out Togekiss. The pokemon came out of the pokeball and spied Renny standing alongside the rest of his team-mates.

"TOGEEE!!!!" Despite the hazardous and dire situation, there was a sense of jouvial and beaming pride for having helped Renny arrive in time and seeing everyone alive and well. Its bandanna worn around its head as it billowed.

In the form of a physical fighter versed in mental aptitude, Renny glared powerfully at the Prideguard... especially singling out one unlucky target who saw this small but somehow intense fighter mentally pressuring him with his willpower and draining his fortitude.
Then Renny turned his zeal inward, shifting his energy into reinforced strength as he stepped forward and stomped on the floor hard, pivoting on one heel, swinging his arm widely as psychic energy was unleashed from his arm that sped to slice the intimidated target powerfully.

"Togekiss. It is shining. Those two..." Renny directed to two particular targets "Use your Heat Wave!"

The pokemon airlifted itself gracefully and flickered brightly with the light of several suns, as if aborbing the power of Sunny Day itself, and gave one intense flap of his two wings that spontaneously created a current of firey combustion, bursting air into intense flame to engulf them!

A new challenger approaches!

Pierce struggled to his feet, holding his shoulder. Violet stepped forward to fight, as Elan and his pokemon prepared for another attack. Suddenly, Pierce stepped in front of her. "I said stay out of it!" He said angrily.

"Come on Granger, you know you can't do this alone."

Out of nowhere, an intense shot of energy blasted Mamoswine right in the snout. The large mammoth pokemon collapsed instantly and returned to its pokeball.

"Who are you?" Standing in the hallway behind Pierce and Violet was a figure in sexy white armor. "Professor Ricewood?" Yep, it was definitely Jeanette Ricewood come to rescue her daughter.

"It doesn't matter who comes to save you Pierce! You're dead!" Elan said angrily. Pierce knew there was no arguing with Ricewood, so he simply turned back to Elan. Recalling Metagross, he deployed Blaziken and Aria, and Elan deployed Gliscor.

Ricewood recieved the message. Her armor launched a round battle bit that struck Elan's Golem with a laser, followed by a Sky Uppercut from Blaziken sending the large rock flying. Showing off her skills, Ricewood pegged it with the same sniper beam she used on Mamoswine, finishing it off.

Pierce had to move quickly to block Gliscor's claws with his Dragon Slave. Aria, with all the fury of a mother bear, grabbed the offending pokemon by its tail and froze it with an Ice Beam. Then she threw the block of ice that was Gliscor at Elan.

With Ricewood's support, the battle quickly turned one-sided. White Avatar's powerful weaponry made short work of Elan's pokemon one by one. In the end, it was down to just Elan and Camerupt. Aria's Ice Beam froze the fire pokemon solid, and Blaziken finished it off with another earth-shattering uppercut. Pierce dodged Elan's Water Pulse as Ricewood blasted him with a goddamned bomb. Elan was knocked back and injured, but not out of it yet. With a furious scream, he rushed at Pierce. Pierce easily dodged it, hitting Elan in the face with the hilt of his sword, knocking a few teeth in. He followed with a kick to the gut, and finished him with a vicious left hook.

Elan lay defeated, slumped up against a wall as Pierce, Ricewood and Violet stood over him. Even so, he laughed, his bloodied smile showing his missing teeth. "Heheheheheheh. What now Pierce? You gonna kill me? Nah, you've never had the stones to do that." His laugh grew louder now as he sneered. "You might as well arrest me. We'll see how long until I get out, and I'll definitely kill you then. Don't think you're going to be rid of me, Pierce!"

"Oh, shut the hell up your worthless piece of shit." Pierce replied angrily, knocking him out cold with another left hook. "How did you get here, Professor?" He asked, turning to Ricewood.

"I got a call from Faynoc shortly after you left. I gave the information to the agency and came here on my own. PATCA's outside, though a couple of teams have infiltrated Millenium House. I came across one of them about to get slaughtered by a bunch of bots, actually. I helped them out, but I didn't stick around because I knew they were going to take too long to recover and I wanted to move fast. Then I found you and your friend here. I don't think we've been introduced."
"Violet Winsewn." Violet said, shaking Ricewood's hand.
"So what now, Granger?"
"Let's get going."

Pierce walked to the end of the hallway ahead of Jeanette and Violet. As soon as he passed through the door, he slammed his fist on the panel at the same time as he reached his pokeballs. The door closed, and Pierce quickly released Blaziken, who welded it shut as the two woman banged on the door from the other side. As soon as Blaziken was done, Pierce recalled him and ran for his goddamned life. There was no way that door would stop Ricewood, or slow her down at all.

Impact watched the enemy's ranks go up in flames as fire spewed from his allies' weapons. A grin smile lingered on his face as he heard Prideguard screaming over their coms. That had to hurt. Not that they weren't fighting back, of course. He saw Renny and Moon take a couple of hits, crouched behind some rubble as he surveyed the situation, selected targets. Did his thing. But as he watched, he realized that he hadn't quite done said thing last time. They had neutralized some enemies, but too many were still alive. The counter-attack was going to hurt a lot more than he had predicted.
And then he saw the medic and the health fountain and the soldier spring into action and he realized that the enemy Venusaur was paying him just a little too much attention... and he didn't even have time to get angry at the fact that things were not going his way before a solar beam destroyed his cover and hit him directly.

He blacked out for a second, but managed to shake it off. Thank god for training and armor. Now... He was groggy, but he managed to focus. The enemy had already started recovering, but his team was no slouch either. As long as they kept up the pressure.

"Keep attacking! Finish off their healers, focus on the strong attackers. Take out the evoliths. We have to neutralize their attackers before too many wretches appear. I know we're hurt, but we have to power through this turn."
