I've actually taken the 'personal pony episodes' to be more from the specific pony's point of view; and thats why in sonic rainbooms we see Dash being pretty unsure of herself and the other ponies hardly noticing [except fluttershy but fluttershy's awesome] and Rarity seems thrice as bad as normal, because Rainbow Dash is exaggerating it.

I dunno it kind of made sense in my head while watching the show but I'm only up to episode 18 what do I know.

I don't even remember two episodes offhand that featured no Pinkie Pie. (The only one that jumps to mind is the episode in which Twilight hosts a sleepover with Rarity and Applejack.)

But I can guarantee you that they're the worst episodes of the series. What is an episode of Friendship is Magic without Pinkie Pie? It is like a human being without its heart and soul, or a cake without sugar, or a pony without hooves.
