The Dark One Returns!

FFX and FF Tactics are my favorites, although FF, FFIV, and FFVI are great as well. FFVII is always will be a classic (Loved Advant Children, by the way), and FFII is fun once you get used to the Goku method of leveling up (II is where I got Leon the Dark Knight from). The only ones I did not enjoy that much were VIII and IX. They are both quality games to be sure, but in VIII I hated how you just there for what seemed like hours waiting for your guardian force to attack, all the while giving the enemies plenty of time to kill it of before it could summoned. IX just started to irritate after awhile for some reason. Anyway, I think it is safe to assume that all of the FF's that I have played have been good games, some are just better than others.

My favorite FF of all time was FFIX. The story was engaging, the characters were diverse (from the overly serious Steiner to simple Quina), the summons were fantastic, the Chocobo sidequests weren't boring, the weapons were fascinating (Cloud's sword even made a cameo), and the Black Mage society was interesting. Also, I, being softhearted, cried every time Garland disintigrated Alexander with the Invincible. I also cried when Alexander was summoned, because it was just so beautiful, and I cried when Eiko summoned Madeen for the first time...quite probably because I was appalled at the thought of Kuja having Zorn and Thorn kill Eiko to gain her summoning powers.
The one thing that drove me nuts about that game, really, was Necrid. What was the point? Ozma was a bigger challenge than Necrid and Trance Kuja put together. |

... FFVI was FFIII (US). The real FFIII was on the NES, not the SNES. Also, the pirate was Salissa/Faris in FFV.

FF3 for SNES was the American one (FF6j) with Kefka. FF3j was for the NES

So far, I've played and beaten all the first nine. Here's my order of preference, from greatest to least. Some placements will probably result in my lynching.
Five, Nine, Three, One, Seven, Eight, Six, Two, Four. For some reasons the odd ones always felt like the high points and the even ones the low points. I fear getting around to playing Final Fantasies Ten and Twelve.

FF7 is by far the best game i've ever played, it is freaking awesome however i have been unable to play ff6 to pass judgement on it and most people seem to prefer it.
In order of preferance ff7, ff9, ff10,ff8,ff1-5,ff10-2 and if you haven't seen ff7 advent children then i seriously advise it, brillaint film. Last edited by Savandicus; 08-14-2006 at 07:13 AM. |

Well, I wouldn't say brilliant. The action is truly awesome, yes, but the plot and dialogue are almost non-existant.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie, but "brilliant" is a word I usually reserve for true masterpieces.
