Thats like saying that a joke's setup is funnier than the punchline. Sure, the punchline makes no sense without the joke, but the only funny part is the bit at the end.

I think a better 8BT moment would be when black mage tries to make an idiot
(like fighter) shut up, but then something happens that makes BM shut up
instead.

One of my very favorites has to be this
"They're made from baby skin. Fresh daily."

The other would have to be where BM uses his "Laser Eye Beams" or where BM is wounded and RM yells something like "Yes! He is wounded! Strike down the monstrosity before it can recover!" I can't remember which comics those where though.

ok as disturbing as that comic was, I got to admit, it made me laugh too.
Fighter is King Steve's long lost son I think, it's the only reasonable conclusion.
