I walked easily like 2 kilometers at work today and my game refused to record any of it. At various points I stopped to reset it, but nothing has made the pedometer start working. Pokemon are appearing and I can still hit pokestops just fine. Anyone know what my problem is?

It only counts distance traveled if the app is open, and the screen is on.

It's dumb, yeah.

Also, it is really bad at counting running - I went for a mile run, it counted 0.2km of it.

I did a lot of posting on here as a teenager, and I was pretty awful. Even after I learned, grew up, and came to be on the right side of a lot of important issues, I was still angry, abrasive, and generally increased the amount of hate in the world, in pretty unacceptable ways. The egg counter is not the greatest because it uses your phone's GPS instead of the actual pedometer and the GPS is glitchy as heck and doesn't really work right if you move over 20 miles an hour (to prevent people from just driving around a lot to hatch eggs).
