When this gen started, I promised myself I'd go Nintendo & Sony as usual. I see now that I have made a wise choice for myself. Nintendo came in guns blazing and put on a good show.

Don't localize a game out of fear of piracy, not even for the platform that can't be pirated, wait 3 years, announce a localization two days after a fan translation comes out, fuck it up, announce they're actually launching it for two completely different platforms and only because they need it so people get the mobile game set in the same universe.

They were probably waiting until they felt it could sell well, and it's gonna sell better as an HD release for PS4 than it would have for PSP.

FFXIV News: Gay marriage confirmed for Eorzia. Rogue and Ninja coming to FFXIV in Patch 2.4. Ninja will use Mudra combos to perform Ninjitsu. Not ever Mudra combo will work so it will be possible to do useless combos. Reminds me of Sabine in FFVI. Shiva fight in 2.4. New tank and healing classes in the expansion, which is still a ways away. Binding Coil of Bahamut Hard Mode confirmed (purely as a challenge for a special title).

Love the aesthetic, and how Link looks. Maybe Wii Us will start appearing in bricks-and-mortar stores again here? Nope

Wish there was also Majora's Mask 3D but oh well. Not actually sure of any big releases for the 3DS later this year apart from Pokemon ORAS and Smash Bros 3DS (October is -not- Summer, Nintendo).

I'm happy for what i saw of Zelda... i think Nintendo needs to be a little bolder, and this huge Monster Hunter vibe just might be the thing..... explosions, laser blasts and techno-arrows and all...

But i'll reserve my heart until i see actual Gameplay footage.

Doom is back though... so there is that.

Also, Bayonetta 2 gives you Bayonetta 1 free on the WiiU, with Metroid and Link costumes... so hey! Added value if you own a WiiU.

I don't usually follow E3 but I found the Arkham Knight gameplay on youtube and it looks GREAT. Dat Batmobile!!! The armor-suit is interesting, the rain effects are lovely, and Gotham looks gorgeous. It's also a nice change to see actual evidence of citizens in Gotham for once, with the cars on the road. I didn't notice any breakable items or trophies in the city, so either the game is ditching them for something else or this was just the Super Sparkly And Not Entirely Functional E3 Model of Gotham.

Not entirely sold on Scarecrow's new voice, though. It sounds NOTHING like the old one, so it makes me suspect this is a different person since he sorta ambiguously 'probably-dies' in Asylum. Unless Rockstar is pulling an Origins and Joker was the Scarecrow the whole time. -_-


New Zelda looks interesting, but I'mma wait until we get some more info until I pass judgement. The chase scene was admittedly pretty rad, but the "You can go wherever you want whenever you want" sounds dangerously Skyrim-esque, which sacrificed story and characterization for player freedom.

In Smash Bros news, Palutena looks neat, although I'm not really familiar with Kid Icarus so I don't know much about the character. Also not sure why she got a fanservice shot.

Also, what's with the Skylanders-esque figurines in the Mii trailer? I only saw the trailer on youtube so I've no idea what that's about. I hope you don't unlock characters by buying figures.

It's apparently just an optional perk. You can also save data on them too (to an extent. So they are pretty much action figure shaped memory cards. Except they just do small extra stuff instead of saving your game. For smash it seems they won't be needed at all. They'll just give a power up for said character. And will (hopefully ) be useless online most of the time unless allowed by the host.

Since the same figures are expected to be useful for multiple games. It's safe to say their use will very, and if handled well. Won't be a requirement for everything or even most games.
