Dude. Fuck that even more. That means they ARE using the resources to do something really fucking stupid instead of the obvious smart thing.

He's awesome. I mean, not so much in combat, but he's just awesome to listen to and have around. Quote:
(I mean, I'd understand it if Beattie didn't want to reprise the role.)

Really in terms of combat they were all pretty interchangeable as far as I ever noticed.

He's one of the three best choices for the final confrontation, as he, Thane, and Tali can 'randomly' die if you leave them to hold the line, so the best thing to do is send Mordin, Thane, or Tali off with the survivors, and take the other two with you.
Not really necessary to take both, but you should take at least one. That said, I usually sent Mordin back because he's pretty terrible in a fight. Which he should be as he is grandfather age. And ages like a cat. I figured he and Thane would be dead by ME3 back when playing ME2, really.

That Thresher Maw isn't 'A Thresher Maw'. It is a grandaddy, fuck-off, big-as-that-Reaper Thresher Maw Legend that I forget the name of because I can't find the magazine I read it in. Also, come on Karesh. You know the lore well enough to rattle off Thresher Maw info, but you forgot that Kinetic Barriers do shit-all to slow-moving attacks? Something your size attacking you in a, for the mass, slow manner is going to trip fuck-all of a kinetic shield. otherwise slugging or rifle-butting a guy in combat wouldn't do anything at all. Come on. Come. On. In Less Words: CONTEXT IS IMPORTANT.

...I still brought Garrus around for much of my easier playthroughs because he's awesome, but I had to ditch him entirely in Insanity. ...Coincidentally I do think I had Mordin in my party for at least a few missions / sidequests on Insanity, he did fine. EDIT: I'm pretty sure Thane and Tali can't randomly die if you have your overall loyalty of your ME2 squadmates above a certain threshold level. I think Mordin's the only one who's actually at risk even if everyone's Loyal if he isn't either in your party or sent back as escort.

What the fuck ever for the mass. Fast is fast. That maw is moving fast enough to trigger a kinetic barrier reaction.

Next there will be a granddaddy of all Geth Colossi and it will be nearly as large as a Reaper and capable of taking it on

Only if you chose to overwrite the Geth rather than delete them. They brought back their reaper tech and it's a Geth Reaper!
