I didn't say that people weren't asking for a refund over quality. I said they weren't getting the refund over quality. The refund itself has literally nothing to do with the quality of the game. The entire basis of the refund is the amount of noise that was made about the game. You do understand that amazon will pretty happily refund any game right? Amazon are pretty awesome like that i've refunded like four games through them because they just weren't working properly on my pc setup. I've never had problems with them about that issue. Straight men are the primarily catered to demographic in gaming. As such, when it comes to video games, what they want is considered first before all other groups, and when they don't get what they want they throw a much bigger fit over it because they're not used to it.

Yes, they have something to do with quality, but the basis is much more about how many people throw a fit, so actually something really good with a built in fanbase is going to get more people complaining about it not being perfect than genuinely shit games.

This very clearly has something to do with sexual orientation for you, and how some people are reacting to it in the game. You are hand-waving an entire group of people with complaints as just being homophobes with no legitimate quality reason at all.

I can give you the benefit that MAYBE you weren't saying that, but you didn't present a reasoning as to what people are really complaining about if it 'has literally nothing to do with quality'. The closest you came to presenting what you thought it was, really, was because there were gay characters (and fuck that shit). Actually, no, that people would use Mass Effect 3 as basis to demand refund over things they don't want to see in stories is something someone else brought up on Twitter, and it seemed a fairly possible slippery slope. I did not say that was why this was happening. I was saying it could happen in the future.

As for why I made the joke here, it's because almost every game that has in the history of ever marketed itself as letting you step into the game or play the game as yourself or whatever has been blatantly lying. I said on Twitter I have as much claim to demand refund over lack of gay representation in games as Bioware fans have to over the ending. Thus, I threw in a little joke into my post to mock a group I grow very weary of.
