A Guy In A Trump Shirt Carried A Gun Outside Of A Virginia Polling Place. Authorities Say That’s Fine.

WASHINGTON ― A man wearing a Donald Trump shirt and carrying a weapon stood outside a voting location in Loudoun County, Virginia, on Friday. Authorities in the nation’s richest county are apparently OK with that.

Erika Cotti encountered the man when she went to vote at the county’s registrar’s office, she told The Huffington Post. Virginia doesn’t have early voting per se, but voters can cast in-person absentee ballots for a host of reasons, like if they’re going to be out of the county or city on Election Day.

“I had my 9-year-old son with me. I felt intimidated,” Cotti said. “And I had to explain to my 9-year-old why a man with a 357 magnum is standing outside the polling station.”

Cotti said the man offered her a Republican sample ballot, which she declined.

“He’s like, ‘Who are you going to vote for, crooked Hillary?’ And I was like, that’s really none of your business,” Cotti said, adding that the man was standing in the sidewalk outside of the office when they left and blocking their path.

I never said that and I ask you to point out where I did. I only said he made racial tensions worse. When those cop shootings happened, he should have left them be, but that's only my opinion. He's far from the worst. With this current election cycle, neither of the candidates are doing themselves any favors either with Trump taking the big lead on that one.

I have no issue whatsoever with legitimate criticism of Hillary, who deserves to be criticized, but so often it just leads down a false equivalency rabbit hole and all the sudden you're talking to people who are convinced that just because she's untrustworthy in a few specific regards she's every bit as awful as Trump in the aggregate, and you just can't have rational discourse with those people.

Two crooked roads can be parallel without intersecting. Just how crooked each one is is up to scrutiny.

It sounds like the situation was handled to me. I'm not seeing the big deal here. While I don't condone what he did, he wasn't doing anything illegal. This was a non-story that was handled quickly and easily.

Most major media outlets have basically been playing a psychotic game of "Red Light Green Light" with their portrayal of Trump and Pence because a one-horse race would be boring, and it's pretty horrifying.

It's a big deal because Trump is actively encouraging his voters to attack/intimidate democrats (in particular, hispanics who he has singled out as alleged tools of voter fraud) at the polls.

Intimidation, with no threat of force, is not illegal. It's immoral and I don't condone it, but it also doesn't stop people from voting. You also know how to stand against such a thing? By voting anyway. Cops can't do anything about it, especially if these people aren't actively 'doing' anything besides standing there menacingly.

Instead of being elected for his credentials, Obama was elected for the novelty of First Black President, despite the fact I thought he had nice credentials at first. It was reactionary and what people 'wanted'.

As for 'how' he made them worse, what I mentioned to Kim. Had nothing to do with what he 'is' but what he 'did'. It's amazing how quickly people will act before they think and the Western World is a good example of what happens when it happens 'too much'.
