Help me name "Battle!"

Well, I guess you could say while I'm trying very hard to leave this place, you guys have been my sounding board for years. I came to you before about naming Battle and you guys gave some great feedback. It's been months if not almost or even more than a year since then and I've boiled it down to two names.

I trusted myself to come here to ask this of you guys, but I don't trust myself quite yet to stay. So I ask you, as a guy you've known for years, to help me keep from relapsing on my addiction by following this link to vote in the poll I've set up on FF Wiki: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/U...rking_title.29

Let me just say I never intended to leave any of you guys behind. I check my @mentions on Twitter every day, several times a day, to check if any of you guys have tried to talk to me. So far I've only gotten @mentioned by a few of you, which hurts a bit, but maybe has shown me a bit better who actually cares the most. I'd like to say that I won't stop waiting on that. I've shared over three years of my life with you all - the good times, the bad times, and the normal times - and I'm not throwing that away. I just can't trust myself here on this forum anymore.

Like I said, you guys have been my sounding board for years. It's just three clicks out of your day to click the link, click an option, and submit your vote. And I'm always waiting to hear from you guys. It just can't be here, where I always manage to get myself in trouble.

Thank you, all of you, for giving me a home for three years of my life, and thank you to all of you who follow the link and vote. I truly appreciate it all.

I threw in a vote. But I too don't use Twitter; I stopped using the one I made like a month after creation and haven't seen much reason to bother keeping up.

I don't have twitter. Don't really get the point, since people probably don't care to be updated on what I'm doing, since I am no one important.

I'm also one of those non-Twitter types. But is there any reason you're not just calling it "Battle!"? Because I'm not much of a marketing genius and even I can see the potential behind such a simple and straightforward brand.

Well, because it's not a very descriptive name for the MMO. Or rather, it's a very simple name that fails to capture what the game has become. It's left over from its beginnings in 2006 where I didn't really have much else planned for it. Even the main storage files where I do the primary graphics work are still titled "simple battle" despite me now being up to full version 6.


And to all who don't use Twitter, I know not everyone does. On the other hand, I'm also a regular on Final Fantasy Wiki now and have become a reasonable presence in their IRC channel. Just go to http://webchat.freenode.net/ or use your preferred client, type in a user name in the first box, #FFWiki in the second, and do the reCAPTCHA in the third and depending on how busy I am, you have about a coin toss of finding me there, mostly in the evenings. If I'm not being active, just type my name to ping me. I generally go by Bluesey.


Like I said, I just can't stay here. Discussions have caused me nothing but grief and I can't trust myself to stay away from them if I stay. Out of all the things that have happened in the past few years, I'd honestly have to say that those have been the number one dent to my emotional well-being.


Also, apologies for this, but to all who voted previously, I made the mistake of making a change to the poll, which tossed out all the votes. If you could go in and vote again, I'd greatly appreciate it. No more changes, promise.

Voted again :P. Also, I got a twitter account but I rarely tweet anything, I use it mostly for contests, people who post interesting links and similar stuff, I'm not that talky anyway .

Also, this is thinking ahead a bit, but I'm semi-planning to have a proper site for my projects. If/when it goes up, you guys can be sure you'll be some of the first to know.

Double-posting because, well, I feel it merits it. Thank you, all, for voting. Sadly, I guess you could say it was for nothing. Having done some research yesterday, I stumbled across another game called Arianrhod RPG. Not only is it the most popular table-top RPG in Japan at the moment, but it also has MMO stylings. I can't afford to get tangled up in licensing, so the final name for Battle is Jerako: The World That Is.


Again, thank you all for your support and I'm sorry your input didn't have any bearing on the final decision.

It's a much better name anyways. You want your name to be a readable/recognizable word at first glance.
