Nintendo and Square-Enix should get back together, like divorced parents.

Someone mirror that video, since gamespot is garbage and keeps screwing up for me. And I refuse to sign up. Based on principle. Yes, I want everyone else to do my work. Please?

The last thing the world needs is more FFVII remakes, especially for PSIII. And I most definitely agree with Semiazas, though I had no idea they had split up. Instead of FFVII remakes, they should recreate Final Fantasy Chronicles or Anthology for GBA or whatever new GB system they're putting out. Oh, and Neko Tera-san, your avatar scares me. :fighter:

Nintendo and Square did get back together quite a while ago. Remember FFTA and Crystal Chronicles? They're developing another FFCC game for the next-gen Nintendo platform, and had announced a port of Final Fantasy 3 for the DS at last year's E3 I believe.

It is an important point, costly or not, it wouldn't be the first time square, or any other game company has "accidentally" or otherwise, leaked out a Tech Demo or something that isn't real, is a fake and so on. It's a well known tactic that companies do to see what the reaction is amongst potential buyers.
I can't claim to be entirely knowledgable about the industry, but as far as I'm aware, FFVII isn't owned in entirity or any part by sony. it was just licensed to be released on PS way back when I don't think Sony has any rights, people claim it's there to show what the PS3 is capable of. Well this is the point because that FF7 tech demo, would have obviously been made by square. Now, unless Sony had put a lot of money into square in order to make them do this, the likelyhood that anyone would do this just to test the limits of a console IS far too costly to happen. In all fairness I haven't quite decided wether I personally think this is a good idea or not, but it wouldn't be the first, nor the last time square have surprised me. Unexpected gaming gems are popping up all over the place, although nothing will counter the extreme dissappointment of FFX-2, no matter what arguements people put for it. In all likelyhood however, it's probable that if a majority of people give positive feedback, that this is almost already certain to happen. Theres enough fonboys and idiots out there to keep square in business from now til doomsday, as much as we might hate the idea I could still imagine a FFX-3 being made and still making a profit. Like it or not, if this is the tactic square are going for theres going to be very little anyone can do to stop it. Lets just hope they don't ruin it or anything else, because I'll never forgive them if they ruin Kingdom Hearts 2 (Pirates of the Carribean in KH?? wtf..) And per shineys request, here's a page I found with a download of the tech demo plus the latest advent children trailer, which is also very sexy. http://www.ffadvanced.com/finalfantasy/adventchildren/ Meister adds:AnarkiJ, you can just use the edit button if you have something to add. I'm not sure myself. I love Final Fantasy VII, it's the best one. But I'm afraid that they'll turn into an overused joke. But just a higher graphics remake of FFVII? Hard to screw that up. I'd buy it.

I at first thought there would be no chance of a FF7 remake but now i'm starting to thing it may be possible.
Personally I would prefer if they didn't remake it but with the games popularity and the near guarantee of making a giant profit off of the game I wouldn't put it past them to see a remake coming out. |
