I was playing the GBA version, and CoO wasn't that hard to reach (my team was :thief: :fighter: :wmage: :bmage: ). I only had like 4 random encounters along the way... and with the 18-strikes theif was doing at the time, he could kill just about anything instantly. Actually, the hardest place I found was the fire shrine. That was a close one... damn lava keeps slowly killing my team ><

So how long do you think Red Mage is going to believe his name is Dick?

Anyway... I think the time jump forward IS indeed a direct result of Sardia's interference.. It never did that sort of thing until our Lovable Light Warriors ran into him.... I think we will be getting an explanation to that very soon.... Most likely, Sardia moved time foward so the LW wouldn't be killed by all high level monsters since they really haven't learned anything in their travels... Also Sardia put memories of all the fantastic battles in RM's mind so he wouldn't be complaining about all the experence they missed out on.... Or I could just be crazy.. we'll see.... |

How different is the GBA version than the NES one? Are there any gameplay changes? Different combat system? When two guys target a monster and one kills him, does the second one hit air (as is in the NES) or does he change his target? Has the turn system been changed to ATB? Or is the decrease in difficulty just from tweaking monster stats?

No, no, change target, turn system, charges became MP, and you get extra hits as you level up. The potential values of 2 are equal to the times you strike. I think.
