Hey now, I didn't bring him up, and I didn't intend to start a squidi bashing fest. I just wanted to make a point about the kind of person he was, and how ironically well he represents the kind of people who regularly make NPF members groan. The only differance with squidi is that he knew how tp phrase himself so that it didn't sound like the completly illogical, self-serving BS that it was.

Neopets forum. Heck, it's so horrible I don't think it even counts as a forum anymore. The mods there rely on computerated moderating, stopping posts when they have a HINT of bad wording (for example, "I am as bad as a pineapple". What? I am as badass a pineapple? STOP THAT POST! TYPE THE WHOLE THING AGAIN! FEAR THE COMPUTER MODS!)

And that's not mentioning a lot of the folks there. Mostly comprising of people that have not yet reached their adolescence. Yes, the occasional adults there are good... but the number of whiny, stupid, annoying (did I mention stupid?) children there is overwhelming.

Especially those roleplaying boards.

Those roleplaying boards are pain incarnate.

At the moment I'm laughing too hard to care about you guys offending him that much.

It's simply that, although he had no rationalization for anything he did, and many of the stands he took were wrong or skewed in some way, holding a hatred against one person like him isn't very healthy for the internet community as a whole.

Then again, bashing Otaku Son seems to be popular as well, so maybe the bashing is justified.

Personally, this is the first forum I've ever been on, and I really REally REALLY like it!!! The people here are very nice and mature, and I'd like to get to know the mods a bit more because I'm relatively new here...

But it's true, about other forums... my dad id on this sports forum called RDS( réseau des sports, in french, which kinda translate to ''The sports network'' in english) and the only thing I read on his forum are teennagers and adultes keeping calling themselfs ''fucking gay assholes jerks stupid'' just because some guy does'nt like golf , hockey or football and giving them a hard time for it...and I don't even think that there are any moderators on the site.

I thank myself to have found 8-bit theather and the NPF!!!

It's true, all of the other forums are frequented by comic book guy-types, while NPf has the petit-sophisticate minds of those like...well, me, but you guys are allright too.
And the mods are fair and balanced, unless you piss them off, or if they are having a bad day, or if they dissagree with you. ;-)

I may be alone in this, but I am starting to dislike The Order of The Stick forums. If you think we at NPF debate comics too seriously, you should go over there. It's very oddly run. All speculation needs to be spoiler tagged and invisi-text, there are around 40 topics for each nuance in a single comic... Cripes. I love this place.

THE PICARDATHON!

Where dozens of posts appear everywhere (in the WoW forum and elsewhere) that have a title of 'Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise' and a body text of 'Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise' and then maybe a few lines of flaming and derogatory statements, but mostly just a one-line Picard post.

One time last year, a single post by someone about a game suggestion set off, for no rhyme or reason, a mini-Picardathon with 34 pages of nothing but 'Captain Jean Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise' before mods finally locked it.

You cannot stop the Picardathon. Blizzard's moderators have been shown to be pretty much impotent against it (especially when over a hundred people are estimated to have carried it out last year).

Indecisive mods can make for a very unpleasant forum. As can mods who have their priorities messed up (the primary Picardspammers in this picture were banned AFTER the people who were complaining about how much the mods sucked.
