PS3 not coming out until Fall? NO WAI!
Seriously, not surprised at all. People are always asking me when PS3 is coming out, and I always tell them "Sony's saying Spring, but it's gonna be Q4." And now I'm right. |

PlayStation = Has more good games.
X-Box = Has better quality in the games, but not the quantity. I don't think this will change. |

Honestly, I do not care about the PS3 or the 360. I am just waiting for the Revolution to come out this Thanksgiving. Nintendo has not let me down yet, and I think they are gonna blast the "Big Two" out of the water on quality.
Aww yeah. VIVA LA REVOLUTION!

I'd peg the standings as such:
1) Ex-box 360 (phonetic spelling!) 2) La Revolution! (French!) 3) The Third Incarnation. Or, alternatively, 360, Rev, PS3. Due to the 360's (relatively) lower price point, better online play, and initial market share. I'd peg the Rev as second due to the hordes of Nintendo fanboys, the Virtual Console, and it's much lower price point. "Do you hear the people sing? Singing a song of angry men? It is the music of a people Who will not be slaves again! When the beating of your heart Echoes the beating of the drums There is a life about to start When tomorrow comes!" Vive le Revolution! |

I have no worries. History has shown that when sony puts effort into something it blows the others out of the water.

Sorry if my blatant pro-Sony fanboyism blinds you all, but I must say...I mean, look at the freakin' username. I'm a Metal Gear Solid fanboy. Since MGS will presumably be a PS3 videogame series, you better believe the PS3 is the first and only console I'll need.
Frankly I think the positions of Sony and Microsoft may very well reverse after these developments in the next generation: Sony Then: Used to have a bigger quantity of games, lacked in quality because the PS2 was cruddy in comparison to the X-Box. Sony Now: Will have better quality games with the PS3, which I fully expect will be a graphically superior system over the 360. Will not have as strong a videogaming library as the 360 because of the later release date. Viola! A total role reversal. Whaddya know. For the record, I don't think any of the three major videogaming console companies are in any jeopardy whatsoever. Sony's going to do just fine, thank you, and they'll continue doing fine even if the PS3 is delayed. Too many good PS2 games coming out soon (FFXII! God of War II! KHII!) So it's not as if they need to feel a particular rush to get the PS3 operational right away. And once the PS3 does come out everyone will rave because it will most likely blow the 360 to kingdom come, and anyone who wants to play the next Metal Gear Solid, Grand Theft Auto or Final Fantasy will have to own one. (And yes, I'm aware GTA is also on X-Box, though generally speaking GTA tends to be released on the Playstation systems first, and that's what a hardcore gaming fan is going to care about.) Likewise the Revolution will do just dandy, because Nintendo has its own frantically loyal fanbase, its own stellar first-party game licenses (Zelda! Mario!), and what the system's software may lack in the sheer graphical department, it makes up for with creativity and style points. And the 360 will do fine, too. It has Halo and since it's being released earlier than its competitors it will have the advantage of a larger gaming library for fans to choose from. In short, all three systems will do fine so long as they keep their respective exclusive offerings available. Hardcore gamers love Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy and Zelda and Mario and Halo, so most of us will eventually want to buy all three. I can't see any of them feeling any threat of bankruptcy anytime soon -- even in the worst-case scenairo for Nintendo, they still are making oodles of money in the handheld arena and subsequently afford losses with their flagship console.

lawl. this doesn't really surprize me, and to me Sony is pretty much out of the race at this point. now, maybe thats just my Nintendo lovin' ways talking, but i really don't see how Sony is gonna win this round.
by the time the PS3 (and the Rev) comes out, the 360 is going to be pretty heavily entrenched in the market. and the features on the 360 and the Rev put it much higher up on the value scale than the PS3 (at least from the last tech readout i looked at (sure sure, a million trillion processors sound good on paper, but i'd much rather have online support and downloadable classic games)). Nintendo has got a big fight ahead of them, but i think Sony has an even bigger fight on thier hands. so, thats my thoughts on the subject.
