Of all the Final Fantasies, I think FFX has the least potential to be made into a movie, because it's already been near-perfectly voice-acted (and the damn game's so polished it already looks movie-quality. Why bother spending so much money making a product that may not even look or sound as good?)

I think FFVI or FFVII has the most potential. Both are probably the two regarded as the greatest Final Fantasies. More importantly, the graphical level in both FFVI and FFVII is so bland and non-definite that it would be easy to cast just about anyone into any of the parts. Give a girl a green wig and bam, she's Terra.

Plus, both plotlines can be condensed into a 2 or 3 hour timeframe, while still keeping a few tidbits of memorable dialogue (and making most the rest on the spot).

There's a number of places you could stick Jackman. I prefer casting him as IV's Cain.

JADGuy - I'm glad I'm not the only who sees Keifer as Auron. He's perfect and unlike a lot of the other suggestions, he could pull off a 35 year old.

Auron may look 50 but he's only 35. :p

Oh, and Jason Issacs as Sephiroth. Trust me.

Ummmm...are we talking about the same Hillary Duff?

For that matter, are we talking about the same Rikku?

I can totally see Duff in Rikku's clothes, and she could totally play Rikku perfectly. Don't judge her by her overexposure.

And she's not fat. Her face is a bit round, but other than that she's thin.

All the people you guys have suggested are too old. Rikku is only 16 in Final Fantasy X. Not only that, she's the shortest main character. I stand by my choice.

And here I thought I was going to get flamed about Shawn Ashmore.

Do not question the authority of Sean Connery!

Yes, he may be old, but if you shave his head so he's bald, make sure he has no facial hair, and if he works out a little, then he'll look like Cid from FFX. Or, keep the hair and dye it blonde. And get rid of the facial hair. Trust me, Sean Connery's gonna be kickin' ass until the day he dies, and he'll probably die while kicking a guy's ass.

Connery would be a great Cid! He was the first James Bond now he's the first person to pilot a rocketship with a bomb inside with the intention of blowing up a meteor!

Sean Connery will still be kicking people's asses and delivering unforgettable one-liners long after death, when he's dead he'll still raise up on full moons and premier nights to show the world true greatness.

Also, I think Mark Hammil would do a good Kefka too, and he's proved his laughing skills as Joker and the Green Goblin. It really comes down to the two Goblins for that part, Hammil or Dafoe. Maybe there's some similarity there too, normal 'noble'(literally for one and just upper class for the other) infused with super power(magitek and goblin formula) who goes psycho and delivers the best lines in their respective series.
