I've had some thoughts on the matter back in the day. Stephen Fry would make a good Aziraphael indeed.

I've always wanted to see Artemis Fowl on the big screen.

So it is written.
Okay, after looking over a coupla IMDb pages about Pete Postlethwaite, I suppose he could fill Vimes' boots as well. Barrie's still top of my list, but it's an extremely exclusive list--that's only two people in the entire world of acting that I think *might* be able to play Vimes.

I'm still somewhat in favor of Chris Barrie. He has a long history of playing characters with pronounced bastardly streaks, but has long clamored for a role with more depth and--for want of a better word--virtue (insofar as this term could ever be applied to Vimes of the Watch, who I guess is a sort of good/bastard hybrid). After seeing some of the performances he's turned in on Red Dwarf, I really do think he's up to it. He's also around fifteen years younger than Postlethwaite, which might become a practical casting consideration for a character that sometimes ends up in fights.

(It's also worth mentioning that Terry Pratchett is a big fan of Red Dwarf, so he might well be thinking along the same lines as I am here...)

Now for the real knotty problem: Who's badass enough to play Vetinari ?

No-one. They will have to computer generate Vetinari, because no mortal man can portray him. He is above all humans. He is above most gods. He is...THE PATRICIAN.

Crisis on Infinite Earths. The idea just came to me. Of course, this is like, really big budget. Like, you could buy Canada with the type of cash this would take. But damned if it wouldn't be cool.

Well here's a little news that may make some Pratchett fans happy: According to IMDB, The Hogfather is in pre-production. The voice of Death is by Ian Richardson.

And for other series that could have potential as film: Dragonlance Chronicles, Corwin of Amber series, and the Drizzt books (especially the first three).
