it's a nullifying effect BM is going for..reverse psy and the evil to evil discussion exploring best ways to make violence/magic/suffering

probably gonna come to Fighter speaking babble upsetting the balance of thought in Lich King, BM getting upset and blowing everyone up.. the Lich King will land somwhere next to white mage.. who will in such a case.. kill it. or it'll end up somewhere later in the long trials of the wandering light warriors!!

Vilbert, if I recall correctly, is the one who took the Earth Orb.
Lich was always Lich. The Earth Orb allows Lich to rot the globe as well as act cool and Lich-like.

The only thing this comic made me think of is BM's daydream about the LW's dying against Tiamat because they refused his help. He needs them for taking hits.
Here, at the first fiend, BM is left standing in front of the entire crew and has been immediately subdued (Currently, that does seem to be the case). Which is just ironic to me, and it once again proves that they really should have chosen WM.
On a side note, Vilbert should have the ruby too. But I don't know how the Titan is going to come into play now. Sarda should mean nothing. If Brian wasnts to do that, he's going to have to pull a side plot improvisation of some sort.

I don't really know what happens next now.

Edit - Wait! That's what the other comic made me think of. This is a new one!
Uh... In this case, IU'm not sure what trick RM is thinkking of, but I'm pretty sure that it'll be good. If nobody's noticed, RM's plans usually work. They just don't pon out exactly as he expects them too. So this third trick ought to be really cool. Maybe it's a falling anvil or something.

I don't think that BM is looking for freedom from Thief's contract; I thought he was talking about being free from Fighter's babbling. You have to remember BM's priorities: he wants to be rid of Fighter. If BM is undead, than he is still on the same plane of existance as Fighter. At this point, BM either wants Fighter or himself to die; doesn't matter which.

Also, about WM's 'cold-hearted' nature: she's really just going off of what her Order has prophesized. The Light Warriors will save the world, and if BM, RM, Thief and Fighter can't defeat Lich, then they obviously aren't the Light Warriors. I hate to be forced to put it like this, but in DnD terms, she's Lawful Good. They tend to do things like this all the time.

I think the Lich has already fallen for it. The trick is telling him that he's fallen for the oldest trick in the book, thereby causing him to do something stupid. What did lich do when he was told he fell for the oldest trick in the book? He mentioned his phylactery, and said it was a gem. So now RM knows Lich's weakness.

no, the materia of holding can't be the phylactery, RM's had it all along.

i'm sure we'll all find out as they sit down for some meatloaf, and the lich decides that BM is the son he never had.
