I can't recall Black Mage ever attacking fighter with a spell, other than the time he missed the volcano, usually he tries to stab him to death. I don't think he will try his heavy spells against fighter, as he still considers him a meat shield. This new event might make Black Mage not care about that though. . .

Also, Fighter resisted Kary's *fire* magic because he was given a suit of fire resistant/immune armor, before Red Mage destroyed the fire dragon with ice magic.

To be fair, Black Mage doesn't get shitted on by the universe enough these days. It used to be far more poignant.
