I never liked the Kingdom Hearts saga because I always felt that there were better games out there. Like Resident Evil 4.

Also, yeah KHII was a letdown for me because of: Linear dungeons (it's like the made it for 2-year-olds) Pointless Disney worlds (Sora: Hokey smokes, guys! It's Pete! Let's follow him and beat the shit out of him before he does something bad!) Terrible story pacing (Beginning: *insert intriguing hints toward the story in here* Middle: *insert mindless wandering around in Disney worlds with no plot movement whatsoever while beating the shit out of Pete for the umpteenth time here* End: *insert HOLYFUCKGASM Ansem ≠ Ansem, Riku = Ansem, Xenahort = Ansem = Xenmas = Mansex AWW FUCKIT HERES SOME KICKASS FINAL BATTLES WITH NO REAL POINT OOHHH ZEBRA XENMAS KICKASS AND THERE WAS MUCH REJOICING here*) Little challenge (like the only things that actually gave me trouble was Xaldin (when I fought him for the first time), Sephiroth (though once I leveled up to 75, I beat him on my first try), and basically the last two portions of the Final Underworld Cup..... yeah....) I'll give it props for making the fighting even more cool and taking away some of the retarded from Donald and Goofy, but yeah I expected so much more from this game.... An even bigger letdown was the fact that they refused to release FM+ to the US.... FUCKING BASTARDS! I wanted to play CoM in 3D, I wanted some more plot revelations in my game, I wanted to try Critical Mode using the EXP = 0 ability just for the rapeage, and I definitely wanted to fight Roxas, all the Org. XIII members, and Terra goddammit! |

I just find it funny that the one game that I assume had an actual decent plot in it was Chain of Memories.. for the GBA. Also, why, after fighting real time in KH1 would I want to use a card battle system to fight in CoM? I mean, that just really seems like a stupid idea right there.

Actually, it was a pretty cool idea. The battle system rocked hard because it was a mix of card games and real-time action, so even if you didn't have the "right" cards you could still dodge your opponent's barrage of pain. At the same time, having the right deck added a lot of strategy to the otherwise BUTTONMASHY MASHY MASHY gameplay of the series, and it helped you overcome many of the titanic spells your enemies threw at you. And that's without even mentioning the difficulty. Riku IV still kicks my arse to this day. The problem was with the overworld gameplay, which was boring and pointless and served no other purpose than to give you a path to go somewhere. Creating the rooms, at least, was interesting and could help you a lot if you were in a hurry.
You know, if I have to give credit to KHII for something is that it made me appreciate Chain of Memories more. It is sad that the portable one will probably be forgot in the annals of gaming history in favour of its younger yet flashier brother. That's not fair at all. I just really didn't see the point of putting CoM on the GBA when the other two were the PS2. It seems like a bit of an odd move. I guess if it was on a Sony handheld like PSP, I guess it might make a little bit more sense, but why put it on a Nintendo handheld when the KH1 was a Sony exclusive? |

My only problems with the game were its terribly paced plot, its lame badguys, its knack for leaving the player confused the entire time they play it, and its Length.
I skipped cutscenes like a whore, but dang, only 15 hours... thats not much for an RPG. |

You should probably get used to this, quite frankly, especially when only one of the next KH games is going to a Sony platform. |
