The community is insane. 12 is the best FF ever.

Similar to Shadow of the Colossus, if at least for just one game.
The only reason you had to find the dungeons yourself in the fist game is bad translation. Japanese players got pretty straightforward instructions. Also, that was terrible and nobody should ever do that again.

Especially with Sonic. Anything after Sonic & Knuckles has just blown like a hurricane.
I hear Sonic CD was pretty good, and I'm pretty sure that's after S&K. Also, the 2d gba games are worthwhile.

Technically, since all games work with progession over time (the fourth dimension), all 2D games are actually 3D and all 3D games are actually 4D.

And if all 2D games are 3D...
and all 3D games are 4D...

Then all games are 4D.

Actually, I was originally going to say Sonic CD before checking the internets to be sure. Turns out Sonic CD was released in 1993, while Sonic & Knuckles came out in 1994.

NSMB was a step in the right direction, but it simply had absolutely no difficulty whatsoever.
I felt similarly but then I realized that the originally SMB which took me like half a year to beat when I was five I could probably beat now blindfolded and with the volume off going purely by muscle memory, so I figure maybe it's not the game's fault.

You know what Nintendo should do is launch a separate line called "Hard Ass Fucking Platform Games For Adults Who Crave That Old Masochistic Thrill."

They could start with "New Holy Shit This Game Is Hard As Fuck Mario Brothers", then go on and do "Holy Son Of A Bitch Playing This Version of Punch-Out Is Like Having Mike Tyson Actually Punch You In The Dick," and then after that they could re-release the original Battletoads with no alterations whatsoever.

Motherfucking snakes level I swear to God.

In TP what you do is walk into the dungeon, in the first chest you find a map, which tells you what you already know: the dungeon is pretty much a hallway, and the only levels in it that anywhere near approached the difficulty of OoT were the ice place and the City in the Sky.
I'm perfectly okay with never having to go through another dungeon like the Water Temple for as long as I live.

I never got why people say the Water Temple was difficult. It was annoying to change the water levels, but I think the only thing that killed me in there was Dark Link. I actually thought the Shadow Temple was more of a bitch, though that's partly because I was eight at the time and it scared the shit out of me.
