I say let him in. If this was Monopoly or another board game his arrival comes before everyone's started their turn, so it doesn't really disrupt anything.

Even fuels and ship componets will vary. This can be especially bad if in that region of space everyone uses artificial black holes as power but you need a specific type of plasma

Is there any chance that the combined intellects of all the mindy types on the crew could modify the Excelsior to function with these new resources? We could tell how long the RP's been going by all the add-ons to the ship.

well it depends one how foreign it is. If its simular enough to its current fuel then some modifications could pull it off. But if the power source is too foreign you'd have to get a whole new engine. The reactor is directly linked to both the main gun and the driver, considering that both are the best known in the federation it would be best to keep the main fuel source (or something simular to it) the same.

That would probably depend on whether the power input and other assorted doo-dads are compatible or not.

Oh and Aero, I don't think you mentioned what the Excelsiors shields are like. I would assume they're top of the line, but you never actually said.

And screw engine replacements guys, we should be on the look-out for a cloaking device to buy or steal. Then we'd be truly awesome.
