Regarding the issue of skin irritation I'd probably check what I'm handling at work and see if it's something one should have gloves for. If not, see a dermatologist and check for allergies or similar.

Yeah, still trying to figure out what it is.
I handle acetone, and an adhesive primer for metals, but both of those I use heavy yellow gloves for. The problem is coming, I think, from something airborne... Maybe some dust from fiberglass resin, or something. Whatever it is, it's a recent thing, because I've been working in the same place for more than a year now, and it just started a few months ago.

Latex allergy can develop over time, though. In fact, that's pretty much how you get it: too much exposure to latex. See if maybe you're using latex gloves, and about switching to vinyl or something if you are.

actually, I've ALWAYS been allergic to latex.. I was about to edit my last post when I saw this come up.. the gloves I use at work are Nitrile, and latex free, but the heavy duty gloves are big rubber ones with the cloth or nylon lining inside (sorta like heavy duty dish washing gloves)...

Well, i for one have a slight case of nickel allergy... i cant hold pennys in my hand for long periods or it gets red, may swallow and it got numb once... so sometimes it's the most simple things really

Are the gloves made of latex? If so, you may have developed an allergy. The same thing happened to me after being exposed to latex for a certain amount of time. I can't even handle rubber bands without breaking out in hives.
