I like to write and hope (against all odds) that one day I'll have a book published and it'll be recognized as a cool book that people talk about and junk - but then I think that everyone will be like "Yeah, this character dies because it's a symbol for blah." (And I'm trying to find a particular post from Invisible Queen, where she mentions an author visiting one of her classes and the professor taking the liberty of telling everyone what the book was about, and he disagreed, which caused the prof. to start arguing with him.)
