The Wikipedia page has even been edited to say this is the end. Not sure that qualifies this as an "elaborate" hoax, but this is still incomparably anticlimactic if so.
Then again, that's exactly the kind of stuff Clevinger would do, the "incomparable" stuff. |

Just to inform all of you (like you cared):
1) I wanted more end than this - a great deal - but this really works with 8-Bit style, so it doesn't really matter if this is the end or not: It's absolutely awesome any way you slice it. Brian, end or not, you are truly a genius. 2) I've had more laughs at the new/linked posts that have arisen as a direct result of this comic than any forum thing ever. Ever. Including Let's Play FF6, which has been my favorite before this. Forum reasons alone make this comic a win. I'm jus' sayin'
