That being said, you don't strike me as the "butch" in any same sex relationship so that rules out limp wristed Sephiroth. Looks like you've only got eyes for Duke "Will never come out with a fourth game" Nukem.

1) Baldur's Gate 2 is rated Teen for "Blood, violence, and use of alcohol" If you've ever played that game, especially if you romance Viconia, you see how racy that game gets. Viconia talks about sleeping with hundreds of men and being covered in their saliva (Although she was lying to you because she wanted to drive you away when in reality she wanted you to hang around...next time she initiates dialog with you she sleeps with you) there were plenty of allusions to sex in that game, yet none of those are reasons for the teen rating. IIRC FFX was teen rated anyway.

3)I didn't ask for a actual makeout scene, I'm asking for a relationship that doesn't end at the first kiss. actually having the scene isn't necessary, but it would be refreshing to see a realistic relationship in a video game.
4)yeah, and that was a huge boundry crossed by square, I was proud of them...
5)yeah, but c'mon, in real relationships, how soon do you have your first kiss? usually by the first or second date. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but it seems artificial to me when they are supposed to be having this intense love develop between them, but it only manifests in the occasional glance at one another.

1 - I never saw that part. Planescape:Torment was better anyway. And besides, which do you think a younger kid would have more fun with - BGII or FFX? Realism in a fantasy game or fantasy without all the realism?
2 - I think those images are hacks. Something about them doesn't look right, and that could have been YEARS ago, gods know Ebaumsworld.com is pretty old.
3 - That's true. And what I saw from FFX was that they were at least starting something - maybe the screen will fade out at key moments in the future?
3.5 - Now that I think about it, in Lunar 2:SSS, the main sub-plot that was going on is Lucia's body. She walks in, buck naked, at least three times in that game. Maybe Square's being left behind.

5 - Yeah, but usually the romance is sub-plot. But there seriously is no mistake in games like FF8 and FFX, where the point of the whole game was to hook the two main characters up. Hell! At the end of FFX-2, if you find Tidus, they HUG. That's it. A hug. This is her lover who got removed from existence for years and she hugs him. Come on.

EDIT: WOW. HOW could I forget Max Payne? The fucker goes in with a handgun, kills hundreds, his wife and baby girl got brutally killed, he's got the deep voice, and then the whole Mona Sax thing in MP2....FUCK he's the ultimate man. Just look at the prolouge before "The Things I Want." chapter.

this is true...but you'd be surprised how popular Baldur's gate was. In the computer gaming realm (yes, it actually exists!) Baldur's gate is a classic.

Imagine how great Baldur's gate 2 would have been with FFX style graphics...wow, I just totally shot down the whole "better graphics = worse game" arguement.

Never played planescape:Torment, heard it was good though. Been meaning to try it.

I dont know if those images are hacks or not, it was kind of a joke post anyway :p regardless, one look at the sheer volume of porn (and pretty vile porn at that...not that I would know )flowing out of Japan and you'd have to admit that they aren't exactly squeamish about their sexuality.

More often than not, I find the romance sub-plot the most interesting part of most games. I guess because romance is something that almost everyone experiences, which can enhance a clearly unrealistic plot. Saving creation from flying magical whales for example, isn't realistic

That guy from Manhunt is manly.. From what I know, he is some guy who is being chased by a bunch of psychos who want to kill him for fun, and he starts killing them.

Manliness not only has to do with appearance, but also with attitude and style. Sure, you can have a gigantic sword and look like a total bad-@$$, but if you're whiny and get headaches all the time, you're not exactly many...(crap, I think I just accidently described Cloud there...)
