I frickin' hate Yao Guai. The only way I've found to deal with them is to run backwards and fire as much as possible, and a pair of them still manages to nearly eat me every damn time.

dartgun makes killing them easier. But that was never my problem with them, I dont know if its a glitch or something but they are a pain to detect. On atleast two occasions I didn't know one was around until it was litterally clawing my back. Having a companion around helps solve that though

Despite being large mutant bears they are rather sneaky, but I prefer them to those goddamn fire ants.
I used so much ammo doing that quest. Then I sold the little bastard into slavery out of spite.

Scoped Magnum + Head shot = Dead bear.
Chinese Assault Rifle + Fire Ant = Dead Fire Ant. I had no trouble with either of those things.

I learned something the other day: Friendly NPC's should never have rocket launchers, or - god forbid - fat men. They blow up everything if they do. You, their fellow whatevers, and occasionally the enemy too! Its just not a good situation.
Also: I really dislike Deathclaws. |

sneak attack ALWAYS takes out fire ants, not exactly sure why.
Oh and I still use the NPC as pack mauls for my big guns, just dont give them ammo and they cant use it. On deathclaws, am i the only one that is reminded of the cloverfield monster with them?

The Cloverfield monster reminded me more of Sin from FFX, actually. The horns on the Deathclaws are what's throwing me off.
As to the Yao Guai, I always take one rank in the Animal Friend perk. Saves me from the trouble of getting mauled from behind.

Can't comment on Yao Gui yet, I've only encountered one, who I avoided fighting. Oh and I accidentally wandered into Andale before. What a messed up town! Still, one more to add to my ever growing list of dead towns. Next stop; Little Lamplight, but only because I just aquired the mezzer. But first I've got to escape from the national guard depot. Came in here looking for the small guns bobblehead and didn't realise it was such a bastard to get to. Fucking robots!

You know what was a fun thing to abuse in the game: In stores where the stock is just laying around, pick it up, carry it out of sight, THEN steal it. And no one says a thing. XD

It's like the "let me go try it on in the dressing room" of Fallout, yeah.
