Now please, this is a place to say NICE things about the stuff people like. If you want to say bad things, go to SMB's thread please. And yes, I know I lost cools points saying that I found some of Jar Jar's antics funny. I just can appreciate that kind of comedy.

I apologize to Robin for the massive pile of red lettered shit I dumped on this positivity thread.
I will not apologize to SMB. One, because he'd shit on the apology, and two, because he likes Twilight. I'd say something about being a commie bastard, but I actually don't mind communists or socialists or whatever the media calls you people these days, and I'm not the half of the forum that says mean shit for teh lulz. |

I thought Leverage was like the perfect anti-procedural TV show and THEN I found out that the people making the show deliberately set out to make it an anti-procedural and then I liked it even more, and Burn Notice is like a 45 minute long totally badass action movie every single week except ALSO it specifically goes out of its way to fix all the things that would normally be stupid in an otherwise badass action movie. ...I gotta be honest though it seems like lately more Leverages are trending towards just being procedurals, like busting up a mob operation is something the plain-old ordinary police could be doing. But they're still also doing episodes about like, for-profit prisons and corrupt biotechnology executives so it pretty much balances out. The for-profit prisons episode was amazing because I was like "whoa okay no THAT is just ridiculous no way could THAT actually happen" and then I remembered that I had already read about it and that it totally in fact had happened.

I also like:
The original Yu-gi-oh! I do not know why, but for some reason the idea of a kid who believes he can save the world by playing a card game works for me. I probably need some kind of help. Martian Sucessor Nadesico. Not too many people have seen this anime series, but this is one of my favorites. You take the most powerful starship in the galaxy and then have it run by morons. It is definitely in the chaotic goofy catagory. Nadesico also has two of my favorite characters: The genius girl Ruri, who laments frequently about the rest of the crew by saying, "Idiots, they're all idiots", and the very short-lived but memorable Guy Digogi. Sabor Marionette J. Another chaotic goofy anime series. It was definately guilty of lots of fan service, which is kind of odd because of the girls being robots and all. To me it was quite enjoyable, and the end of the series is pretty serious and sad. Dual. Chaotic goofy seems to be my thing, at least with anime. This series was kind of a parady of Neon Genisis Evangelion (which I am surprised no one has mentioned) mixed with Chrono Cross. A very funny show, with a somewhat serious ending. Ok. that was my obscure anime contibution to the thread (except for Yu-gi-oh! of coarse). Enjoy, everyone.

Final Fantasy: Not "overrated." Something is overrated when it gets undeserved attention. The series is awesome.
Halo: It's fun to play multiplayer with some friends, I'll give it that. Eureka 7: Had a lot of suspenseful moments & some interesting, unique conflicts. Just needed a better ending to tie everything together. Also, no one said anything nice about Bleach yet. That's a damn shame. Oh well, at least I get to be the first: Awesome main character. Awesome main villain who uses strategy as well as power. Great characters. Great fight scenes--Byakuya, Grimmjow, & Ulquiorra are just breathtaking in the anime. A story that keeps you guessing.* Movies haven't fallen into a pile of suck yet, either. *=Yeah, yeah, people say they can see everything a mile away all of the time, but it's really more like Wild Mass Guessing & confirmation bias.

Parts of Bleach certainly were, at one point, fairly good!
