I'll never be able to have monsters on in unmodded Minecraft ever again. I mean holy fuck they flip their shit and try to kill you the moment you look away.

The moment it's released, I'm gonna find what their spawning parameters are, light the fuck up around my place in Arcanos (Necro may be too late at that point) and keep my render distance low.

Oh wait that's a good question, do endermen respond to your staring at them if they're outside your render range?

Yeah man what the fuck is their "targeting" distance. I think double teaming them will be immensely easy. Maybe we should take on groups in pars. One standing way the fuck back and watching them while the other kills them.

I don't understand why any of you would entertain the thought, for a second, that provoking them wouldn't immediatly override the 'freeze when you stare' behavior.

This level of completly missing the point is astounding

Possibly because, so far, no further information has been released.
It seems logical that they'd go hostile when you attack, but then... it's also logical that obsidian would fragment if somebody would so much as intensely stare at it. (slight exaggeration)

As it stands right now, endermen freeze whenever they're being directly looked at. Period.
That's all we know.

Prediction: Notch fucks up his code, looking straight at a single Endermen triggers ALL Endermen everywhere to respond at the same time, turning to stare at you. Moment you look away, ALL ATTACK.

But yes, I too expect glitches that make them drastically more horrifying.

I wonder if they can teleport through a solid wall. Like, if you see them from a window in your house, will it appear inside, or stop outside?

Or they continue attacking after you're dead and locate you once you've respawned to continue the hunt.

I hope they attack in some unique way. One nice thing about minecraft is none of the mobs attack the same. Hope its something unique like, the dont so much attack, as they try to build a prison around you, or transport you to nether or something
