eh... I'd survive. I don't think I'd personally have a real problem with it.

As for bootleg it would still be illegal. You see copyrights are policed by interpol so the whole planet is affected by these patents

Wow Aerozord, that got me in stitches...*cough*sarcasm*cough*
And if it really is illegal everywhere then the Ebay people would have to pull the auction and track down the guy. Someone tried to sell a tank from Russia on Ebay but got caught. |

If the U.S. stopped importing "anime, manga, videogames, ect..." from Japan then I would probably be happy and sad at the same time. Happy that I could start getting free anime and manga from the bootleggers. Sad because the anime companies wouldn't be getting as much cash. It would also suck to have to go through other sources to import and translate Japanese videogames.
In the end, I would probably end up moving to Canada or Japan.

A world without anime would not be a world. It would be an inanimate sphere of dirt inhabited by sacks of flesh which apparently represent human beings orbiting a giant, celestial fusion reactor commonly refered to by these sacks of flesh as a sun.

well...first of all, did hell freeze over? Second, I'm moving the canada, eff that. What would make 'em stop importing to us anyway? We'd really have to piss 'em off to stop a section of their exports. Well...anyway, I'd have a lot more money (:

A world without anime would be inhabited by a very different me. My entire life is what it is based partly on anime, if there were no anime, I would have had no reason to be interested in Japanese culture, and thusly would not be living in Japan. A very personal impact would be felt, restructuring time-space in order to facilitate the incredible difference in my existence. As such a thing would probably be a highly energetic process, most likely leading to horrendous natural phenomena, like black holes and such, being created locally on the surface of this planet, the world would be destroyed. So without anime, everbody dies. End of story muchachos.
