It doesn't seem so bad...right now. Then again, it's because 90% of the time except for X-play I just have it on in the background while I play Warcraft III or some other attention grabbing game. Cinematech is a pretty good show though, I'll have to give them that much. Silent Hill 4's movie disturbed me just from the bit they had on the show. Arena is so-so, but it'd be better if IT WASN'T THE SAME GAMES all the time. They could mix it up and play Street Fighter Alpha 3 or Soul Calibur 2, they don't have to do Unreal 2K3 every SINGLE time. Anyway, that's the end of the rant.

i was so happy when i found out an all gaming channel was merging with tech tv ..it was good for the first few days but then the excrutiating amounts of reruns that plague the channel and shows like filter that only take into account votes on THEIR site which extremely sucked...they even had the audacity to mention shenmue as the second worst game of all time imagine that and arenas a fair enough show but the point system in that sucked extremely big but there is a show that does actually stay true to videogames and that is cinematech.
shows like sweat and players just don't belong there

G4 is the reason people think video games are a waste of time. IT FRIGGEN SUCKS AND [ehem] I am glad that I dont have digital cable anymore.

The problem with G4 is that they aren't informative. They basicly pull out a bunch of video games and say "Hey look at this, video games are so cool, we love video games, we're so hardcore that we only play fps's and manly games!!!11!111"
TechTv actually kept you up to date with technology. Plus, they didn't have so many reruns. And they didn't try so hard to be cool. They had people who knew about what they were talking about and it didn't matter if they were nerds or hot chicks. Speaking of hosts, they got rid of nearly every good one on the screen savers (I would say the same for the other TechTv shows, but most of them got downright canceled).

How much must it really cost to make a really good game channel?

It CAN'T be that hard. There's so many of them that are out on PC, Gamecube, in Korea, or whatever...

I really wanna know if there's a place to research this.

Uggghhh another problem with Filter (I am declaring it my current least favorite show) THAT HOST> IT FREAKING PISSES ME OFF EVERYTIME THEY DO SOME EPISODE SHE HAS TO HAVE A COMPLETELY NEW PERSONALITY THAT SHE CAN NEVER PULL OF RIGHT!

Also It probably cost more to be on national Television in America then in Korea or on the PC.

The thing that I think was the biggest insult was the fact they ran episodes from 3 to 4 months ago directly after the merger, and only now are the slowly catching up to the post-e3 period!

I loved TechTv. The Screensavers was my all-time #1 favorite show. I hate it when people say it's just a "q&a noob call in session." Those guys were all so smart and nice, and they weren't afraid to express their beliefs. I loved Kevin's "music pirate" t-shirts and things like that. Dark Tips were great.

It seems now, the screensavers has all but disappeared, and it makes me sad...Leo was such a cool guy too...they really knew how to have fun.

Every once in a while I see a review on g4 that's not shit. then I remember it's for a 6 month old game. I really, really wanted to like g4...but I just can't.

You are very right Locke, most of the reviews on g4 are crap. Both reviewers are biased (and yes, they only have two reviewers). One of them is the type of "gamer" that thinks he's hardcore because he only likes games with blood and guts and killing. The other, while slightly more fair, is way too easy on the games (although he pisses me off a lot less than the first one). Plus, they don't actually tell you about a game. One review consisted of a short introduction of the story, a joke about the heavy machinery in the background and how much noise they were makeing, the fact that I could push crates in pseudo 3d, and that he didn't know what the music sounds like because of the machinery. The game got a 7.5. It's like they play the game for a few minutes before the taping and base their review on that. And there's hardly any gameplay footage which only gives you the impression that they're improvising.
