Even with the amplifier most of what AndyBloodredMage said still holds true. It would be really stupid to create an RP that would kill the players in about 3 seconds. Although whoever created Call of Cthulhu must have never heard that.

Sounds fun, but I'd like some examples of this strange cause&effect power.

Like he could stop bullets from firing or change their path. It takes some concentration and he can't do it indefinatly. Also the good scientist will equip you all with a negation field that can run for 3 minutes at a time and protect you from his power. Later on other stuff will come along to bring you to his level or lower him to yours. The simplest thing to do of course is to destroy the amplifier which he protects with everything he has.

Uncommonly common.

So the main objective is to shoot Hyde. And Hyde can be very difficult to shoot when he doesn't want to be shot.

I thought it would be more of a "floor underneath attacker suddenly has its integrity compromised," extremely good/bad luck type of thing.

He could do that as well. Which is the whole point of how hard he is to defeat. He can do so many different things a list is impossible. Which is where his major power comes from.

see...you keep swaying from all powerful to semi powerful....detouring the path of bullets is a simple action for someone who can change cause and effect, but changing a single point on earth to a liquid then re-solidifying it pretty much has nothing to do with cause and effect, it has everything to do with manipulation of atoms. You need to pick whether this guy is gonna be uber strong or not so uber but still strong.

Who said anything about turning it liquid. Things fail all the time. At anypoint in time there is a chance that your standing over a sinkhole or that the floor will suddenly fail. It's a simple matter of effecting the chances or changing the effect of an event to trigger a collaspe. Plus there is always a slight chance that the laws of physics, which are governed by the quantum world, will change in some manner. Realistically this either never happens or happens for so short a time period we never notice. I'm in no way diverging from my orignal statement.

I'll join. Other than the overall concept sounding interesting, Sithdarth's way of explaining things always makes sense, even if it does destroy your brain for a couple hours.
