I understand Dragonsbane. Humans have always feared what is different and strange. Well, I believe that people as a group have changed, and for the better. But there will always be room for improvement.
But that's the thing. Homosexuality isn't quite so different and strange anymore. It's very wide spread and common these days.

And yet this archaic mentality is hanging on, perpetuated by intolerant morons who just can't get used to the fact that some people are different. They wouldn't complain about being hit on by a girl, but by a guy suddenly it's invasive of their privacy or whatever.

Well i don't mind being passivly hit on by anyone. It's when a stranger agressively hits on me I view it as an invasion of my privacy

Change takes time, unfortunately. I suspect that in time such perceptions will be generally considered both wrong and highly unusual.

Well, we are only human. Besides, there will always be someone who will stubbornly stick to the thought that gay people are immoral and should burn in hell etc. etc. It's just the way the world works.

Ah, thanks for listening!

That's true, nobody is perfect. People have changed for the better, in my opinion, but we're still nowhere close to being perfect. We're always going to mistreat those different from ourselves, because we seek to elevate ourselves in our own eyes...a rather ridiculous method of self-promotion.

There are always people who hate everyone different from themselves, these people are called "bigots". It would be nice if they just went away...but they won't, sadly. Learning how to deal with them is another thing we need to figure out...

I didn't mean to imply that's what you meant, I was just commenting for the discussion as a whole. I'm sure it looked different in text than it did in my mind.

alright, first off I'm a guy. Second I'm straight. Third many straight people think I'm gay, and many gay people know I'm straight. Why that is I have no clue, I guess you could think of me like that one guy from Friends (Plus I have many more girl friends than guy friends). Now that that's been stated here's my story:

I have a friend, will call him Bobert (cause I like the name bobert) now bobert is a bi sexual male that I eat lunch with (among other friends....primarily girls) now one day he started hitting on me and I told him politely to back off....but the next day he tried again and when I told him to stop he tried explaining how it's better than being straight. I told him to leave me alone. The next day he tried again and before I could tell him to stop he tried to kiss me, which didn't take well with my girlfriend who slapped him (my girlfriend....rather my ex girlfriend now, just broke up with her) really hard (she slaps really hard....) he's gotten that point from then on.

Most people are actually bi-sexual. But it's just a choice of which gender you prefer more. I'm open to my bi-sexuality, but I haven't yet met a girl that I could find physically attractive. So I'll settle for Shiney. =3
