well on the xbox live, since i dont like any games on the xbox my only source on the price was my friends complaining about it being to much at lunch (they are cheap and are halo 2 fans).
Now why shouldnt i judge a game before i finish it, do you play every game in the world. no you dont. If a game is boring, and you need to force yourself to keep playing it isnt a good game, end of story. Im not 13 try to be a non conformist, though i am not some old vet of the industry. There are big hype games i like that arnt gamecube (counter strike and unreall were really fun fps multiplay). I dont like it cause its mainstream, i dont like it cause... i think it is a poor game in my opinion. yes others say it is a great game and all, i just disagrea with them on that subject. And I dont know why but GTA graphics looked bad to me, i dont know why. I think like some one said above me it wasnt crisp, i dont know. Halo was an lower mid level game, that i grew to hate cause it kept being thrown in my face as the greatest fps ever made. You may think it is a great game, but in my opinion your really really wrong. Here is a funny game, if i had gone to a pro halo 2 thread and said why it sucks and that i would be assaulted saying im flamimng or troling or something. I always find that funny, it may just be me though. |

No, if you had said "I don't like Halo 2, blah blah blah" people would have opposed you or told you "Wait, that's not a reason." or rather, if they did, then they would be in trouble with the mods. Read the facts.
But! The thing with Halo is that it was just a FPS that they perfected. They balanced grenades, graphics, guns, gore, and gameplay into a great plot. The only downside is the fact that, in that perfect FPS, there's not much to break up monotony. But that's okay for people who don't care about breaking up monotony, if you wanna keep shooting aliens Halo's for you. So then they made Halo 2. Same story - they just fixed, added, and modified stuff. That's how it worked. So in other words, picky people hated Halo. Pickier people and hype-haters hated Halo 2. *awaits the onrush of "OMG NO U R WRONG!!!1!111 one!"*

Halo is far from a perfected FPS.. if you mean perfected in the line of maybe... perfect for something that is going to be released on the Xbox then maybe, but not perfected... Metroid Prime Hunters is going to have a way better multiplayer, and Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2 Echoes are way better single player... and they are far from perfected aswell
To say that Halo is a perfect FPS game is to say that Legend of Legaia is the perfect RPG... its okay, not really anything great.. worth a rent not a buy, but there are, and will always be, a tonne of better games out there. Everyone sais Halo 2 is an improvement upon the first, but I also was told that Halo 2 is worth buying Xbox for, well that is a lie. Final Fantasy X was worth buying a PS2 for, but that was because I knew for a fact that there were many games out and coming out for the PS2 that were worth getting. Besides, I have arthritis and carpul tunnel syndrome, I cant even use standard gamecube controllers and can not hold the Xbox controller for more than 10 minutes, so to tell me that the Xbox is good for anything is just ridiculous, I know someone who only bought it for a DVD player (and a weight lifting set )The new GTA... let me put it this way, its mindless gore... the ONLY reason I even watch horror movies is because Vincent Price got me hooked on them, but the GTA games dont have a legend like that to enthrall me. Also, on a side note, any game where you can beat a dead body with a baseball bat (GTA 3) and use a chainsaw to cut someone (GTA Vice City... hmm reminds me of a movie I saw once :P) i dont see the point in a new game... lets face it with games like State of Emergency and Manhunt all Rockstar has proved is that they can make games that make someone who doesnt get queezy over anything ill, more because someone is sick enough to make it and there are people to enjoy it.

Actually if they start attacking someone who says the game (or anything) the thread is about isnt good wont get attacked. i know this for a fact. since i have been attacked by mods and no mod stoped them, they usually yelled at me.
Halo2 is far far far from a perfect fps, especially if you dont like your games with a crap load of gore in them. I dont, cuase well i see no point in it. If they spend a bunch of time trying to make it as disgusting as possible, then in my mind they could have made a lot better game by not doing that and focusing on the game play. Another flaw in both games is that they are M rated (18+) yet they are aimed at 14-16 year olds or so. So if the rating system was proberly inforced both games would fail. I just spent an hour or two playing Agent Under fire, and it was much more fun then eather halo halo 2, or any of the GTA games. If halo2 is perfect, then what is all the bond games or counterstrike God incarnet or something. cause all of them are better then it. |

What? Would someone explain to me why I should ever play any of the GTAs beyond fifteen minutes? I never retain interest beyond running over policemen a few times.

I'm no hype hater, or a Halo 2 lover, though I did enjoy Halo 2. I found a few flaws in it I didn't like, such as the fact when you fall from a height you don't die. THat sucks and it brings it down a notch. The duel weaponry is good, and the ablitiy to fire them seperate is also good. But I do have a little trouble in getting the right combo of weapons I like. The controls they set for vehicles is confusing and takes me too long to get used to, and stealing vehicles from other players should be a tad bit easier. I've only played multiplayer, so I can't comment on the capaign so I won't. Other than that, I think Halo 2 was a pretty good game.

You know what I find funny, you complain about Halo 2's plot yet you love Goldeneye/Tommorow Never Dies.
Lets compare them shall we A man in a powersuit that has shielding and armor, several marine squads fighting along side him, vs 1 man with a laser watch, golden gun, and anything he finds on dead bodies that can magically take several (I mean alot) bullets without armor and survive. Oh yeah realistic Plot Halo 2- Aliens attack humans because they're religous nuts (I'd say more but that would be a spoiler and I don't want to do that.) vs 1 secret agent man with a golden gun, laser watch, and really cool car that can take down a madman, bent on taking over the world, becoming rich by holding the world hostage or some other generic plot, and his own private army. Yeah funny isn't it. Goldeneye so beats Halo 2 like that... not but as for GTA:SA I played it, its tollerable but I hated it in comparison to the others. I hate the whole having a gang that your stuck with it ideal. I much prefer to be a gun for hire that took care of business the down and dirty way. I hate having to eat, it makes using the speed up time cheat impossible because you'll starve in five minutes. I like the fact that you level up skills (get better accuracy with guns and what not.) But I got bored playing it too fast. Final Verdict Halo 2- 8/10 above average but not t3h bestest GTA:SA- 6/10 decent, mediocre but not awful Last edited by h4x.m4g3; 11-15-2004 at 03:32 PM. |

I liked the Bond games plot cause they were more entertaining storys. I had more fun with there storys, they were generic bond storys, but they were a lot more origanol. And he didnt have a golden gun, that was cheat code or multi play. Halo 2 is a cheap B rated game with good graphics (i never said it has bad, GTA not good, halo had some really good graphics and the sequals are even better). now halo 2 is better thenb gta, i give it a 5/10, i dont like it, but it isnt the worse game ever made

Meh...I think you're crazy calling Halo and Halo 2 low quality, poorly made games, etc. But, that's yer opinion, so it's fine with me.
I will comment on GTA: San Andreas, though... Hasn't Rockstar learned that sometimes franchises just need to end? Reminds me of...oh, I don't know...Tomb Raider? The games just kept getting dumber and dumber... GTA did improve quite a bit from the PS1 days, but after Vice City it's pretty hard to get much use out of anymore. I personally think Rockstar should have tried a multiplayer aspect where other players are required to do certain things or have certain timing for missions or whatever to be complete. Oh, and having to eat is really tedious. The game is comparable to a big steamy pile of shit. Well, in my opinion at least. And yes, I think Halo 2 is the greatest FPS to date, but no where near perfect. The day there is a perfect game is the day I STOP playing games, since there's no longer a point to play them. I just think that the next wave of FPS games will be even greater improvements. Just like it has been and should be. That's about all I have to say, really. |
