I started with alliance. I created a lot of things before my hunter. A human warlock that i got to 7, this was first but i came to a dead lock and was bored. A elf, that went to level 4 at most then was bored. the most fun with that was seeing how high i had to be up the tree in the starting area to die (its the top). Then a dwarf hunter, he was kinda fun but i couldnt find any interesting quests or where to buy bullets. Then i was bored of the alliance so i created a undead priest, he went to level 9 and that was really fun, i mean really fun, the thing was it was on one of my friends computers and he wanted to play so i had to switch computers, and thus accounts. Then i created the orc hunter. So yeah i started with alliance and kept creating accounts, its what kept me from getting bored. I still enjoy playing both of my horde carictures though |

Thank you very much for the rundown, I have a friend who keeps ranting on and on about how awesome EQ2 is, and I really dont want to get sucked in by his deceptions. Also, I hated loosing exp when I died for the little bit of EQ that I have played in my time. Additionally, the little I know about the EQ plot has never really interested me, and I have always loved the plots in the warcraft series. My roomate (an ex-EQ addict in the worst possible way) and I are considering putting a computer together that can run WoW and going half and half on a copy/accout (I work nights and he works days, so, not too much of a problem there). So, hopefully after we save up a bit of money, I'll be actually playing along with the rest of you. |

When I start up I really want to play a mage, because I have always played mages in MMORPG's I just love seeing big spells go off hah, but I must admit I have played all the Warcrafts and havent noticed to many powerful mages, any suggestions on what I should be if I'm looking for big destructive powers?

I dont see text boxes as a downer, you see i can read thus it works fine. but for the iliterit(didnt say i could spell, just read) masses that may be, though how they post will be beyond my knowladge. So i dont see the fact that WoW has basicly no voice acting as a bad thing, just that EQll has it as a good thing

IMO, Warriors are indeed, not very good as of now.
I have only played the game since retail, but since then, I have gotten a human warrior up to 16, then scrapped him, because it seemed no matter whether i was playing offensive (big 2 hander) or defensive (weapon and shield) minded, the best I could do was an even con or +1 enemy, and even then it took a while and was quite difficult, and an add meant instant death. Enter my level 30 Warlock. Taking 3 even cons at once can be a problem, but doable. Taking a +3 or +4 enemy by itself is completely possible, as is a -2 or -1 (havent tried an equal con yet) elite. Then putting the fact that my Warlock has 3 "get out of jail free card" type moves in Fear, Sacrifice, and Soulstone (or whatever, where you can reincarnate for 2 spirit shards) so that if a battle would go bad (happens more then enough no matter how well you play) I could almost always get out and survive. One way or the other. My warrior had no such thing by 16, my Warlock had all 3 of those options by then, so that in itself makes a warrior far more fragile then a Warlock, and I don't think someoene playing a warrior should feel more fragile then a Warlock, I'm not sure what kind of help a warrior needs, but Ive talked wit h alot of people, and I have confirmed that they are the worst soloing class in the game (yes, thats right, Priest owns Warrior when it comes to soloing - and he's the 2nd worst). So some help may be required. |

to goldjas1: how exactly can you compare 2 characters that are 14lvs apart? your warrior hasnt even started to get into their skills, or their talent tree. Also, gear is a huge factor in meele types. I know this from experience with my rogue, his gear was about 15 lvs below him, till yesterday, now i can take same level elites where 3lv lower leets woulda owned me before. Try the class to its fullest before you cast judgement.
