Drew something from photo reference (read: practically traced--though I changed the face and hair). At first I just wanted to understand the pose by sketching in a rough skeleton, but it shifted into making a finished picture. I tried shading it by smearing the pencil around with my finger. Not sure how well that turned out; it's been a long time since I last tried to shade anything realistically and, y'know, not on the computer. Also the feet were obscured in the photo, so I drew in some socked feet 'cause I was too wimpy to try to work out drawing realistic bare feet.

Been working on solidifying the design for the race in the upper image here. As you can see, it's a fair bit different but I am considerably more pleased with this one, aesthetically. I now have a much more solid baseline for what these people should look like.
As you can imagine, different individuals, especially of different tribes, would have different hair builds, colors, or fur patterns. However, the overall body shape and shape of the features should remain mostly the same.

I did a lot of posting on here as a teenager, and I was pretty awful. Even after I learned, grew up, and came to be on the right side of a lot of important issues, I was still angry, abrasive, and generally increased the amount of hate in the world, in pretty unacceptable ways.  After playing a Wizard in DnD last semester, 'Fiendish Octopus' is my favorite DnD monster.   Drew Myself. One in a size for twitter/forum icons and the like, the other just to play with brushes.
