I noticed that in the anime (and written material regarding the anime), they've given Alucard's name as "Arucard". Engrish strikes again. Not so bad, but it destroys the name-pun.

Hmm...I've been wanting to see that anime for quite a while though I haven't had the money to lay down...nor the cash to buy the anime...I mean, it justs looks so cool. I love Alucard's character design..looks excellent...tell me more!

FYI you all. They're making more Hellsing anime in the from of an OAV called "Hellsing Ultimate". It's said that it will be a more "faithful adaptation of the manga". Although wether that means that they're just making a sequal to the TV series (which will be difficult to do without some retconning if they want to be faithful to the manga), or are just remaking the whole damn thing (hopefully in my opinion) is up for discussion

I believe it was explained in volume one that in order to make a true vampire, the person has to be a virgin. Although it was early on during the begining fight before Alucard got into the battle. I haven't seen the anime so it may be different in that.

Personally I have a love/hate thing going on with phonetical speach. I hate it because sometimes it is hard to read, but I love it because when I pick up a new manga, or a new character is introduced it makes sure some accents stand out. Without the phoenitic text, I wouldn't have known that he had a thick irish accent.

And yes it has to be spelled Alucard or it does ruin the name. For those 3 of you who never realized, its Dracula backwards.

I've seen all the anime, and when I looked at the manga, it was completel different. Does it extend past the anime or present an alternate (longer) version?

Hellsing Ultimate? Great, though hopefully it will follow the manga more closely.

The anime follows the manga up to the attack on the mansion by the Valentine brothers. The episode where Integra meets the leaders of Iscariot also happen in the manga, although the results are very differant (and funnier if you ask me). Also, the episode showing INtegra's past and her first encounter with Alucard also happen in the manga, but is actually show in Chapter 2.

Other than that, everything else that happens in the anime (like the stuff with Incognito) doesn't happen in the manga, which goes off in an entirely differant (and much more solid) story.

Indeed. Although the way the story goes in the manga looks like it's could become very cheesy at first, the author pulls it off flawlessly, making for a very compelling and rock-solid storyline.

I agree to that. However, the only thing I think the anime did better was to make Seras a more serious character, while in the manga she's for the most part a comic relief. Although I do enjoy the comedy bits in the Hellsing manga, I liked how the anime handled her unique situation.

However, volumes 6,7, and 8 of the manga easily make up for all that and give Seras a major chance to be serious and grow.

One thing I've learned from Hellsing... any story involving super-natural organizations in modern times will inevitably involve Nazis at some point.
